I was kind of giving him shite. However,
quote:

No worries for the U.S. mainland which is good.... Mexico is gonna get fricking slammed...... looks like nothing that is gonna do damage to this storm as far as strength.
that's not an educated guess. That's stupidity at it's finest.

Yeah I am supposed to head to b.r. from Houston Saturday and come back Sunday. Driving Saturday might be no good.

Am I right in thinking this will affect the GC starting Saturday? I live in League Cityand work in Galveston. Haven't heard anything about this except here.

In his defense, his predictions are justs what he considers an educated guess. Nobody should make plans based off his predictions 14 days out from landfall on storms.

Let's remember, he was calling for it to go to Mexico and so we're all the models. Should they be banned as well?

, he says what the models are suggesting, then makes definitive statements that almost invariably turn out incorrect. A forecaster would never say a storm is no threat to the US mainland when it is 10 days away. PJ is that dumb, and often, that wrong.
quote:

Mexico is gonna get fricking slammed...... looks like nothing that is gonna do damage to this storm as far as strength.

Mexico was hit with an open wave, and the NHC never forecasted the storm to get above tropical storm strength. Meanwhile, PJ was predicting a monster storm entering Mexico.

quote:

No worries for the U.S. mainland which is good

The GFS has a strong Category 2, lower end Category 3 storm hitting between Corpus Christi and Galveston in less than 4 days.

quote:

No worries for the U.S. mainland which is good.... Mexico is gonna get fricking slammed...... looks like nothing that is gonna do damage to this storm as far as strength.

To add to this a bit, as of now, models are showing a setup favorable for intensification over the western Gulf. Harvey has some high end potential.
