Is "I don't know what the frick I'm talking about because I didn't attempt to check." a better way to say this?

I had been told this my multiple independent sources that are generally trustworthy, so I relied on it. So sue me.

If this was more important information that was breaking news, I’d probably check my sources. But please, let me apologize if I was incorrect on the status of non-profit net worth. It negatively impacted so many people, and I wish I could take it back.

Why did you leave out the part where the LSU board was mostly appointed by a liberal DIM governor in the heart of conservative country

This is how all those Harvard grads in government and public policy treat people.

Because pointing out that Louisiana has liberal tendencies (excluding New Orleans) generally leads to angry denials and for some reason posts about homeless people shitting in San Francisco.

The same voters that elected Blanco, gave us JBE, so . . . .

And both times we were faced with major disasters that killed our economy, and neither governor has a clue.

What does Harvard ever plan to do with a $40 billion endowment?
Even at 2% (going rate of a CD), that's $800 million a year they could use for whatever and never touch the principle.
And why keep donating to them? I guess so you can help your alma mater have this dubious title.

I worked for Bobby Jindal. And let me tell you, he had a clue. He just decided to sell Louisiana down the river for political gain.

Not saying which is worse. Just pointing out it’s not just one party that sucks.

OK...that seems fair.

That doesn't seem to be necessary, but if you feel compelled to do so, then proceed.

Honestly, what did I miss? Are republican owned businesses giving their employees pay during their time off? I only know of some sports stars and franchise owners. Can schools really spend endowment money any way they want? Do schools have political affiliations? My boss is a Harvard grad and a devout republican. Is LSU a republican school or democrat? How do you find this stuff out?

The entire point of having an endowment is to never spend that money. Instead, they spend what that money produces in revenue. That way, they can continue to operate in perpetuity.

For the big endowments, you might ballpark for each $1,000,000 in endowment, they budget around $50,000 per year of spendable proceeds. If a donor wants to fund something that costs $500K per year to run, they will need to donate $10 million to the endowment.

Well, for one, they ensure that students who come from families making below a certain income threshold won’t have to pay a cent to attend the school. That’s fairly admirable.

For another, they subsidise a lot of ground breaking research in the hard sciences.

You didn’t miss anything. Anything that could possibly be construed as negative is like crack to some of these guys. I think they’re bots actually. They post the same adjectives and extreme political rhetoric to absolutely everything.

An elitist liberal university proves once again that they don't really give a shite about those beneath them? Shocking.

Their huge endowment assures that anyone that gets accepted to Harvard gets to attend regardless if they have the money. 20% of their students pay $0.00, to attend, 60% pay less than $12,000, per year. Almost 100% graduate debt free.Less than 20% pay the full cost. Giving the best students a chance at a world class education regardless of their families income doesn’t sound very elitist.

Less than you might think in real terms.

Harvard’s endowment is 100% liquid.

A huge portion of the Churches assets is in land, famous works of art, etc
