If I weren’t working I’d take advantage of that.
I used to download torrents from The Teaching Company/Great Courses and they would record lectures from professors on all sorts of different subjects. And you’d get the full class.So when I was driving back and forth from Monroe to Ruston everyday I would constantly have them playing. Pretty neat to take a history class in the car, or an astronomy one etc,

This isn’t new. Harvard has had this program for a while. Maybe they expanded it some.

I am happy to inform you that I have already completed my first Harvard course. In order to pass, we had to write a 500 word essay about why the course benefited by being taught through "scripturalization" instead of by examining the traditional creeds of the Church.
You might expect I was none too pleased with this approach, so I took my own path to answering this:
Perhaps I won't get any academic credit with this essay.

With the exception of a few hard science courses, that looks like a mix of technical college and podcasts.

MIT has been offering free courses for over 5 years. Coursera, and edX roughly about the same. The more free education the better, but if someone hasnt found the countless resources of free courses with a simple Google search, they just aren't interested and/or motivated.
A friend once said she would be in college forever if she could, yet when I asked, she never heard once of the plentiful courses out there for free from top university professors. Not particularly surprising, she's pretty far left on the political spectrum.
The MOOCs (massive open online courses) are made up by a majority of Asians/Indians/South Americans. Can only imagine the future implications.
