He was going too fast in choppy waters for one, then appears to throttle down too quickly, jerking his arm hard to the right right right before they went airborne, coming down angled and sideway. Don't know why he was grasping the throttle or yanking it like he was, but it was definitely the cause for the tailspin. Definitely part inexperience and probably part liquid courage.
