Who would stay in a 30 story building that was built in two weeks?

Is there anything other than the Twitter title explain what was done in 2 weeks? It's a pretty remarkable claim.

If you don’t count all the prefabrication at a factory. That is modular construction. The erection doesn’t take long, but everyone of those pieces is built in a factory offsite. So it’s a very misleading post.

ETA: also, they didn’t show a time lapse of the site work, site utilities, foundation, erecting the crane, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention any of the interior buildout. All the are showing you is a 30 story shell of a building. Been seeing a lot of these type videos on the net for years, look at what the Chinese can do this, look what the Japanese can do that, etc. etc. “why can’t USA do things this well?” not really showing the true timeline and effort that goes into the entire building process. They probably took years of pre planning to create the modules that made it possible to build a building shell in 2 weeks.
It’s fricking propaganda.

The 30 days is disingenuous since it was prefabbed beforehand. They basically put legos together in 14 days.

500 room hotel in 202 days back in 1968

In San Antonio, H.B. Zachry built a 500 room hotel for the worlds fair in 202 days back in 1968... they claim to have been the first to revolutionize modular construction. Its no 2 weeks but considering it was the first of its time, I'd say thats pretty good.

It being out in the middle of no where helps as well. Still pretty incredible. I’d wait a year at least to sleep in it though. So year and 2 weeks.

Bookmarked for when this building collapses and thousands perish.

you're absolutely correct but wouldn't you also agree that the US could adopt this method domestically and lower construction costs for ordinary/nondescript buildings?

The US already does prefabricated metal buildings for ordinary buildings. Any more prefabrication, at least at this time, doesn't actually lower cost.

no because one construction type isnt suitable for all situations. And modular construction is very prevalent here in the US.

Probably modular building. China basically builds moderately tall buildings assembly line style and just hoists the pre fabricated sections into place and attaches them. It’s extremely efficient, and with no unions nor labor laws, work can be done at break neck speed

The Contemporary and Polynesian hotels at Disney World were built using modular techniques. They took less than 8 months... however that was at a union pace which Roy Disney was not fond of. He believed they could have been built faster.

It's modular. They might have only been constructing for 2 weeks but all of the sections probably took up to a year to shop assemble.

If you don't give a shite about the safety of your workers, the environment, or really anything, then of course you can get shite done quickly.
