He also tried to demolish occupied buildings. Which, you know...puts anyone around "in harm's way."
I'm sure these people did not have time to get out of the building with the high rate of speed the dozer was traveling...

Marvin wasn't a reasonable man. I'd wager that 99% of the posters of the OT would have hated the man's guts if he were their neighbor.

Sure. Hes like a tv character that’s a bad person with a legitimate gripe that many viewers empathize with. The stunt he pulled is straight out of some drama show
Nobody is saying he was a saint. But he was a great illustration of how government can genuinely ruin people’s lives and nobody gets held accountable

Is someone supposed to just be bullied and pushed around by the state/city gov
By “bullied and pushed around” you mean follow the laws everyone else has to follow? I think the whole thing was funny as hell, but that guy was a self-centered nut who would not comply with the existing rules.

He had opportunity after opportunity to help himself and his situation. He chose not to help himself and blamed everyone else for every wrong that ever befell him.

What does that matter? So his intent all along was to kill himself. Even more cowardly.
Well no, his intent was to simply keep to himself. They wouldn't let him do that.

So what is he, an American hero or the suicidal cowards that you love to bash?
I imagine quite a few Japanese in WW2 believed kamikaze pilots were heroes. Simply knowing you're going to die doesn't make you a coward.
The options here were life in prison or death. I honestly can't say what my choice would be in the face of those options. I at least understand why people would prefer death to life in a cage. Unlike school shooters who kill themselves, this dude hurt literally no one else.

He tried doing that.
