I always thought in "Rose Colored Glasses" John Conley had among the greatest voices in Country. Let's put him third. And then John Anderson.

Now we gotta fit George Jones in there.

I miss the good old days of country where you didn’t have to be a democrat

Yea, you can't have this conversation without the possum. Even Merle Haggard wouldn't try to imitate him, even being very extremely talented himself.

The door - my personal favorite
The grand tour
Bartenders blues

Randy Travis is great in his own right and like Alan Jackson, just continued doing his thing and making great music his whole career.

Love Randy but anyone planning to see him on tour beware that I don't think he really does much. Someone else sings his songs and he may chime in with a word or two.

Kinda sad, but I guess he's got bills to pay.

Read something somewhat similar regarding Gordon Lightfoot recently. His tour last year apparently he could barely talk much less sing and looked like he was going to keel over. People who paid $100+ for tickets were pissed.

The CMT Cross Country performance with Randy and Josh Turner is worth a listen.

It's Just a Matter of Time

RT's version is so much better than Glen Campbell's (and I really like GC)...his deeper voice lends so much more to the song.

I'll second this, that show was fantastic. There were some other good combinations too, i.e. Roseanne Cash/Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs/Bruce Hornsby.

I don't understand why these performances are not available, other than selected cuts.

These where some incredible performances.

He might have the best voice ever in country music

I love Randy Travis. He’s one of my all time favorites, but I’ll nominate Keith Whitley for the best country music voice ever.

Seconded...

Well he's gonna be at June Jam so he must not be that bad.

I'm not sure you realize how devasting his stroke was. This is the most recent video I can find, posted a few months ago. He's still not speaking in it. Chances are his June Jam appearance will feature him simply sitting on stage. At best, he might speak-sing his signature "Amen," at the end of one song.

Pretty sure he's permanently messed up from the stroke. He can barely speak and function independently. His wife is his spokesperson and handles his affairs.
—-Then how can he be singing in AL in June?
