I also don’t think ABC wanted to deal with a Bachelorette that had been raped before. And that’s why Caelynn wasn’t picked.

I don't think that played a role in this. They also devoted an entire episode to her and the incident at VCU. Obviously, I could be wrong. But I think the backlash of her lying played a bigger role in all of this. Which is kind of funny because her friend ended up winning.

Y’all should watch UnReal on Lifetime. No new seasons now, but it is very interesting.
It’s fiction....but very clear they base stuff off the Bachelor shows. I bet former Bachelor staff have contributed to the writing of the show. Some of the stuff over the top....but some of the stuff they show is likely stuff that happened on the bachelor(giving bonuses to the first producer to get their contestant to cry or get drunk, etc)

Reddit seems like a terrible place to evaluate pop culture. It's a self-selecting group of outcast, left-leaning nerds.
Also, Hannah B is borderline impaired. I mean it's painful to watch. Watching the blonde girl pretend to love that Colton douche just to get the show over with was hilarious, though.

I think it played a small part....maybe they didn’t want backlash from some women’s group for exploiting a rape victim like that? (You could see some SJW snowflake group getting upset)
They already highlighted that story....they can’t use that tragedy to base a whole season on like other tragedies of the contestants.

I thought Hannah B. lost the feud with Caelynn early on, which I thought buried her(I never thought Colton would choose her, but buried in terms of being in the running for the Bachelorette), but she was able to recover once that obviously forced angle went away.
This shite is literally like professional wrestling for women. It's staged and scripted with feuds and infighting and drama, only with "being pretty and seductive" taking the place of the form of competition over combat fighting and wrestling.

If they promoted paradise as much as the main shows, it'd probably be more popular IMO. Definitely more than the Bachelorette, which even my wife quits on after a few episodes
