I feel like the environmentalists would squash the wall before it ever really got moving.

Oh damn you're right. Just looked at the daily satellite photos for water clarity and there is a ton of sediment from the pearl as well as mobile bay.

Where do you find these?

Smart Thinking, will payback in property values, touristas, etc ....

Of course Blue Water Beaches to the East will not like it and will work against it.

Blow up Cat and Ship Island.

Boom, blue water.

That’s what I was thinking.

Went to those islands for years, parents retired to BSL, but damn if you’ll see me in the water.

Besides the fact it’s nasty, I don’t trust walking around out there with all the debris that was washed out from Katrina.

South side of Ship, Horn, or Petit Bois and you'd be fine.

With the spillway open so long, maybe wait a couple of weeks until after it’s been closed.

I would buy property in MS if the beaches and water were at least comparable to Orange Beach.

I was at the Silver Slipper yesterday and the water at the beach was as opaque muddy brown as the Mississippi River. It's crazy. But even crazier, there were a handful of families swimming in it.

Also, when I was leaving New Orleans, crossing the Twin Span, I've never seen Lake Pontchartrain look that army green. Like an algae explosion. Anybody know what's up?

I'm okay with the water staying shite brown as I'd like for that area to remain affordable. We vacation to Bay St Louis a good bit and it's stupid cheap to Airbnb a house out for a week.

The only way to help the ecology is to remove the present seawall and manmade beach.

I'd settle for Biloxi just not releasing sewage into the Sound.

They don’t. The pipes on the beach handle excess storm drainage from Hwy 90.

Sounds really interesting. Would like to know more about how the second seawall helps and what else needs to be done.

Why is the beach closed from time to time because of excess sewage then?

I’m with this guy. I love bringing the kids to the Waveland beach and letting them play w/o fear of drowning bc the water is super shallow for damn near a football field.
