I'm busy writing a musical of my own, MLK! The Man and His Boulevard, starring Carrot Top

I'm working on one of my own. It's called Fanboy and Chum-Chum in Narnia. Here's a sample of the dialog.

Chum-Chum: Wow, Fanboy! Look at that lion!
Fanboy: I think we took a wrong turn at the wardrobe...

The central melody is lifted from The Producers. Instead of "Springtime / For Hitler / And Ger-many" the lyrics are simply "Fanboy / And Chum-Chum / In Naaarnia."

I've been working on getting Jason Alexander and Stephen Root for the lead roles. I think they're starting to warm up to it.

Wasn’t Hamilton a slave owner? How are the “enlightened” SJW’s reconciling this?

He was not, at least as far as we can tell. The criticism concerning Hamilton re: slavery is that he was very close to people who did own slaves, like Washington.

His closest friend, John Laurens, was an ardent abolitionist, though.

I never saw a play in my life until me and the mrs went to see Hamilton on Broadway. I was very skeptical due to the price and sjw crap that had taken over the country by then but it was amazing. For someone to be able to write history stories and turn it into catchy songs is a pretty great accomplishment. The king George songs are very funny. Even if you don’t watch the production on Disney, I suggest you YouTube them

Wicked, Lion King, Book of Mormon, Nightman Cometh >>>>>>> Hamilton. But, Hamilton's music is pretty bad compared to the others. So that's not really helping it out.

If Alexander Hamilton can be portrayed by a black man that raps, MLK can be played by a Mongolian throat metal singer

Wasn't Hamilton OK with slavery? Why hasn't he been "cancelled" yet?

Very little of the production is rapped. The idea that Hamilton is a “rap musical” might be the silliest criticism I hear, as it immediately marks the critic as someone critiquing something they have never actually seen/heard.

I just put it on. Watching the original cast on tv is incredible. I saw it twice on broadway but with the b and c teams. Lin Manuel needs to write a play based on King George.

You’re right. I’ve never seen it. And I likely won’t. Not because I’m completely against the historical portrayal, but because I genuinely don’t like musicals.

I actually have zero issue with that

Though, with that said, I used to be the same way. I always found the “music” part to be mostly pointless interludes interrupting an otherwise good play. Part of the reason why people freaked out about Hamilton is that nearly the entire musical is in number. The example I give is that the soundtrack to Wicked is like 50m long. The soundtrack to Hamilton is like 2h30m. The running time for the entire production is 2h40m.

If you ever want to give musical theater a shot, Hamilton is a good candidate.

Art is literally the embodiment of a society that has gotten its shite together enough that it can explore more things that basic fricking survival. Failure to enjoy art in some way is a real indication of a poorly evolved individual.

My son loves Hamilton. I haven't gotten to see it yet, but we have a date this evening to watch it together. I'm looking forward to it

Lin Manuel Miranda is black?

Some of you really should try to educate yourselves.
