Nothing at all. OP and his supporters are part of the entitled perpetually outraged sect of society spreading like a cancer across this county.

I don't understand why people are so scared to have their kids out on Halloween.

24hr media sensationalism of every single event surrounding children
Social Media soapboxes and outrage over every little thing
A generation of people raised to fear the fake problems of the world while ignoring actual fears and problems.

Our trailer park still does it right. After trick or treating everyone gathers at the empty community pool. The grown ups smoke cools and drink tall boys while the kids go through their candy. The way God intended it.

I'll be fair and say that some neighborhoods are kind of rough, but I agree. People are so afraid of every little thing now.

All a bunch of whining about inconsequential bull shite. What you are complaining about has absolutely no bad effects and only good effects. You just like to complain to complain.
When I was growing up I lived in a neighborhood with few young families. Maybe 2 or 3 houses that had kids at all. No one prepared for trick or treaters because it wasn't a thing in that neighborhood. Having a place for those kids to go is not a bad thing, and it is entirely and only you being a miserable curmudgeon who hates children having fun.

Obviously I'm not arguing to do away with all Halloween events. I'm saying it's a travesty that what should be the ultimate day has been replaced and watered down in a lot of areas.

Sorry you live in a shitty neighborhood and can't have a block party on the weekend before. Enjoy Halloween with the inmates out of costume holding wal mart bags.

Yeah it's really not as bad as you're making it out to be. But hey, keep overreacting if you prefer to live life triggered.

I honestly have no issue with indigent good natured children being brought to my hood to trick or treat.
There’s not a damn thing wrong with that.

I don't either, but when they bring their 15-17 yr olds with no costume and a plastic shopping bag it's ridiculous. Those are the ones that get a treat from the other bucket (left over Easter candy).

You do know the OP is talking about little kids trick r treating.

I truly don’t give a shite of kids roam the neighborhood as opposed to going to an organized event. It’s just not that sacred of a tradition.

Nothing better than Halloween growing up in Michigan. The weather was typically great: crisp and cold. We've have neighborhood block parties. Kids would trick or treat throughout the streets. Adults were offered speciality beverages or beers from the hosts.
Great, great time. It sure isn't the same anymore.

Agree. This was my childhood experience. It’s not the same in Louisiana. I wasn’t sure if it was a changing times thing or a different state thing.

I do my house up for Halloween. Ghouls, tombstones, large bats with red LED eyes, flaming torches, skulls, bones, fog, house lit in spooky orange, deep purple for the trees, screams, chains rattling and creepy moaning. Windows are all lit in red. Little kids have to escorted up my walk by their parents because it's too creepy and scary. Some parents just walk on by because the kids are too scared. That's exactly how I like it.

As a Christian I never really cared for Halloween
