My last job I got hated on a lot for being a millennial.....but then I’m still the one that had to come to for even basic excel help. Assholes didn’t even know how to link multiple excel files onto one different excel file so multiple people could update their project info for the owners at the same time.

I was just talking to one of my customers yesterday. He’s going back to get another degree and he is taking a business communication class. He’s been doing research about the gap between what graduates have to offer and what hiring managers are looking for. Most hiring managers now want soft skills. So you could be the smartest guy in the room but if you can’t communicate that well with the rest of your team You will not thrive.

With phones and the such it’s becoming a lost art. Kind of like that thread yesterday where the girl didn’t want to do a speech bc of social anxiety.

What you describe here is your employer’s fault, not an entire generation.
Some Boomers could teach you things about Excel, you just don’t happen to work around them.
Upgrade your employer or lay back and enjoy being valuable amongst the dinosaurs.

I'm sure you could come up with a comprehensive list of complaints that each successive younger generation said about their parents as well. What's your point?
