This record is a lie. It needs to stay in competition.

I tend to agree, but it has served its purpose. All the beef isn't 100% personal. Look at it as more like a boxing promotion.
Right now, there is more interest and money in Strongman than ever before. They are all pulling toward the same goal, Eddie and Thor included.
Don't forget that Eddie Hall has, and may still be, drawn a check from World's Ultimate Strongman.

Even Eddie has said he believes thor can pull 520.

But he also said, until it happens, it's all just words.

Would you, if able, attempt it for $100,000.00 plus?

I'd attempt it right now no training for 100k.

His livelihood is based around being big and strong. He does this, and it's reasonable he's set for life financially.

I don't think he will get 520, mainly because after 501 that lift means nothing and his motivation will be shot. I don't think it is a foregone conclusion he will pull 501. I do know he has a better setup than Eddie had, even with Eddie's comp being tailored to his attempt.

Clarification: to get the money, you have to complete the lift. Whoops, my bad. The fine print got me.

Saying this to Halfthor is also a great way to get hurt.

This is him and his girlfriend. The logistics of their sex life must be mindboggling. Also, note him holding a normal sized coffee mug. There's a reason they cast him as a guy called "The Mountain".

Also, the girlfriend could get it.

Considering one man ever in the history of the world has officially lifted 500 kg off the floor in a deadlift, yes.
Prior to Eddie Hall, 500 kg was believed to be impossible. The deadlift record had been going up by 1 kg, sometime a half kg at a time for decades. Eddie lifted 500 kg, and shattered the previous record by 37 kg.
Thor and Ivan Makarov are the only two people in the world right now even close to breaking Eddie's record, which has stood for over 4 years.

Technically, Benni and Makarov got it off the floor. Eddie's the only one who finished.

Benni

Makarov--2nd lift is 501 kg
