I do not agree. We weren’t there long and this was my first visit. I saw a lot of places I want to visit when the madness ends. It was just that allowing people to pitch tents and live on public property then go harass others for change is ugly and needs to change. There’s not much that can be done, if anyone had a solution to prevent homelessness they’d win a Nobel

I don’t give a frick. I know what city I’m in.
Besides, I can get some great Thai, tacos, steaks and drinks at the Domain while doing some great shopping and looking at a bunch of hot chicks.
You people that long for the old days are the ones that are holding the city back.

I enjoyed my time in Austin but happy I left. New Orleans has gentrified a little too much itself but it at least still has it's soul.

Holding the city back from what? I don't think there'd be too many people upset who are native to the area if it was still 300,000 people.
It's the foreigners from California, Colorado, Houston and Dallas who would be upset.

I’d assume so as long as immigration outpaces new housing. I don’t know what the exact numbers are but I know there’s quite a durth of affordable housing.
Regarding homelessness specifically, I’d imagine it has to be difficult to get on one’s feet when rent is out the roof.
