I'll never pay a grand for a dog but let's not kid ourselves...free dogs cost a lot of money too

Sorry for your loss... I have two great pups and just think how bad it would be to put one down.....

Keep your spirits up....

Anyone knows of any breeders in La or MS that don't want $1400 for a mutt?

plenty of fosters of dogs around. won't charge anything (other than some minor charges) they are raising the dogs for the love of them, not for the profit of them.

Not entirely true.....I have a goldendoodle, he’s a good pup. A little hyper at times but not what you explained.

My wife wants a Frenchy...same situation.

Read up a LOT before you spend that kinda money. That was the single worst dog owning experience of my life.

Put down my 12 year old Doberman last week. Toughest thing I have done to date. Don't want another for quite a while. It was a peaceful exit, but the questions from my 5 year old were rough

Yep. I had to put down my lab of 12 years a few years ago due to cancer. Her last dog died in it's sleep about 10 years ago. One of the top 3 worst days of my life to date no doubt. I don't think our 4 year old completely understands since she hasn't asked too many questions.

No kidding! I had to say goodbye to my sweetheart pet after 18.5 years, exactly 367 days ago and I have yet to consider a "replacement". Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. To each, their own, though.

My wife has a cava-poo. She got him 5 years ago on discount for $800 at some puppy mill in Arkansas because he was returned.

He is a good dog. Just hangs out doesn't cause problems. Good luck.

Now the wife wants a poodle mix. She-poo or cava-poo. Anyone knows of any breeders in La or MS that don't want $1400 for a mutt?

. I asked my vet friends about them and they all told me poodles are great, Golden's are great, but mix them and they become a dumb worthless dog. Sure enough that's what my parents dog is: a big, clumsy, worthless do

Not even slightly true. We have one and it is by far one of the smartest dogs I've seen. Very calm and good around kids.

Only negative I would say is that he's kind of a pussy. Would stare out the window at the stray cat and act like he's all badass and chase after it when someone let him outside but as soon as we rescue one of the strays kittens ad bring it inside he's scared shitless.
