He probably means that someone got the number and made a clone of it. It happens pretty frequently.

Definitely pursue charges. I had my debit card skimmed and had to fight to get the police department to take my report. They ended up catching the two guys and they had over 30 stolen credit and debit cards

It should all be on camera. File a reprort and and ask to see camera footage for when transaction happened. Target let me do this. Some big fat you know what had it. Crimestoppers maybe could help identify thief. God I hate thieves.

Sam's is not going to do anything.

Your bank will fight the battle with them.

i had my debit card number stolen about 10 years ago and i was using capitol one at the time. I had to have the sheriff's department produce an affidavit stating it was not my charges. If i remember right it was right at $1,000, which was refunded in about a week. I do remember the officer stating if it was not above $10,000, capitol one would more then likely not file any charges.

Charged that much without checking id? I'd be willing to bet cashier knew the customer checking out..

Was it a single transaction or multiple?

Someone stole from you and you wont file a report?

But yet you say you want to know who did it?

People like you suck for abusing credit card companies.

Its YOUR fault the card was stolen

You do realize when they clone a CC they can make it match their ID. There are several ways to do it, you'd be shocked at the lengths some people will go to rip off others.

I have had my card numbers stolen throughout the years and had someone start new LOC accounts for 40k, 25k, and credit cards, all maxed within days of activation. CC's and banks did nothing.

Right out of college I was taking an order for a customer who was stating he was an accountant ordering product for clients. Gave me lots of amex numbers(he was purchasing 25 $1500 products, which was not unusual. Found out the cards were stolen. I talked to amex to see if they wanted help in getting info on where the guys was, they said no, but if you can get any more number we will deactivate them. That is all they cared about

You are wrong. I can tell you with 100% certainty if there is 40k worth of fraudulent charges, the CC will file a police report.

Getting high tech.

But they are using a cloned CC where they have to have a membership is dumb.. unless they know Sam's won't do anything.

.....

You know your info is compromised.

A lot of card companies wouldn’t even give you a choice of getting a new card number after a breach like above.

Maybe all.

So if there was a police report I should have been involved at least with something, shouldnt I? like a statement or something?

The dude opened a LOC, and charged in 1.5 days. I was amazed.

They told me I could do if I wanted to.

Why?

What can you say in this case that they don’t already have hard evidence of?
