Let me start this by saying i am in no shape or form a highly religious person. The last time i was at a church was like 2 years ago. Recently My Mother-in-law passed . A real sweet older lady. She always called me her favorite son-in-law . Considering i was her only son-in-law i always laughed. I have never had a dream like this before but i was at an airport and i see her behind a gate she seems sad. The gate is opened and i am there to give her a hug. No words exchanged just a hug and then i woke up. The reason i woke up is because usually i wake up about 3 am to take a piss.
After returning to bed i couldnt go to sleep but in my mind i thought it was nice to give her a final hug. She died of cancer and i really didnt get to do that because she was in such bad shape the last few months.

This is the weird part for me though and gives me confused feelings. My hip has been hurting for dam near 3 weeks. Literally getting up and going back and forth has given me pain. I mean not oh my god pain but dam my hip hurts pain. Well this morning i get up to get ready for work and my hip has literally hardly any pain at all. Best i've felt in a month. I told my wife the story and she said she didnt tell you anything did she? i said no just a hug and that was it. Just wanted to see if any of you other OT peps has had something similar happen with a deceased relative. I'm still not that big of a believer but after last night there is a chance

I've had dreams where I had conversations with deceased relatives or where deceased relatives were at an event that occurred after their death. The stories are too long to type out here, but yeah, I don't think it is highly unusual.

I've been dealing with bit of neck and back pain lately, myself. You think you could reach out to her tonight and see if she could hook me up?

I'm very confused. What does the hip pain have to do with seeing your MIL in your dreams? You think she cured your hip pain?

I'm fairly religious but I think that might just be a coincidence. As for seeing her in your dream, I don't think that's unusual. Occasionally I have dreams that include my grandfather who passed a few years ago.

Nothing more disappointing than a dream about a woman, and it isn't a wet dream

Listen to the Universe my friend. And if you don’t like that language at least trust your intuition. We are limited by the power of our brain. There are things afoot in the Universe that exceed the power of our brain by the power of billions.

while reading the subject I was hoping it would say "Had a dream last night that involved someone I have never seen or heard of"

Now that would have been a worthy post, because you are not supposed to be able to dream about someone you have never seen or heard of

Was your MIL a chiropractor? Maybe she wasn't hugging you so much as giving you an adjustment.

I thought you were going to say you decided to go to the doctor to make sure your pain wasn't bone cancer. Because she seemed sad and all...

ETA- I really hope she just took away your pain. That's a much happier ending!

I've got several stories/dreams like this also.

The most recent was my Dad (passed 2 yrs ago) being at my daughters High School graduation. (She's only a Jr.) In a dream I had a a couple months ago.

Brother died at 50 from an enlarged heart due to excessive drug abuse. His life style drove us apart for years, the drugs and his choice of gender mates. The last few years I had gotten past the gender aspect, which was difficult in the way we were raised. Anyway, it was about six months after his passing that I had a very vivid dream. He was standing on my back deck in a mauve colored robe, smiling and pointing upwards, I could see him out the french doors. My wife was there with me in the dream and I went from smiling to this terrible feeling of sorrow. I started crying and my wife told me not to cry or he would go away. I couldn't help it, he faded away, and I woke up crying. Long story short I had fixed the awning rain guard over the outside of the french doors weeks before and it had come loose. I didn't find it for two days after the dream when I was out there looking upwards where I saw him looking. Strange thing, my brother wasn't a roofer.
