Shouldn't this be public info anyway? Other than their medical records.

If that would discourage people from working in government, thereby shrinking its size at all levels, then the good outweighs the bad in that scenario. IMO.

That’s the same sort of logic people use for asking law abiding folks to give their right to bear arms.

Does working for the government mean a persons right to privacy disappears?

In a lot of cases it does curtail your privacy. Florida has sunshine laws so every email, all written notes, everything related to the job is public information. They have all state employee gross pay information online and now they are making the travel receipts all available online.

Nothing wrong with that, much different than having your personal phone number, address, personal email account, etc for the public to view

I'm stunned at the attitude in this thread.

People put lives at risk with this hack.

The propaganda about the gummint has fricked some of you people up bad.

so I can't readily find the links and don't feel like jumping through the hoops.

I can’t find anything about this, I don’t think this is a federal law.

Does this really put anyone more at risk, if you know someone’s name and want to find out their personal info it’s not that hard. Someone who wants to go after LEO isn’t going to call it quits when they didn’t find an address in a google search.
