I know the owner unless he sold it. He’s not in politics and never has been. He does/did own most of the land between 73 and bluff. Good ol guy. You’d never have a clue he’s freaking loaded if you met him

He may be dead, but it’s an older lady that owns all that property. She still lives on the grounds.

Who owns that property?
I always wondered why it was allowed to look like a 3rd world landfill.

So for us non trash individuals, is this a legit gypsy camp or just your typical meth trailer park?

It has always been referred to as a gypsy camp. Not sure if they are actual gypsies or just live that similar lifestyle. Have dealt with a few people from their over the years and some sort of inbreeding/isolation type thing seems prevalent.

Back when there were a lot of tradesmen who lived there during the week and worked in the plants. Progressively had become more trashy over the years.

Assumed they were part of the Braud family since the fireworks stand was there for years, and well, the road name.

Tell me you know nothing about the Braud family without telling me you know nothing about the Braud family.

The tacos aren’t bad. Got a few after scarfing down a Beltbuster and a Blizzard one night.

Didja go with the pigeon or stray cat tacos? Inflation does nothing to their supply chain.

ETA: Hey downvote queers. Does having 9 food places within 1 minute hurt you pigeon taco business? Where did you go wrong in your life, to end up in a taco truck?

Also, with 13 of you DVQ's splitting the profit from one taco truck, are y'all able to afford a nice spot in the makeshift trailer park, or do all you frickers just sleep in a pile?

The other thread about gypsies reminded me that there is some sort of gypsy, meth head, or carnie encampment behind the Dairy Queen at the Prairieville / Geismar exit.

They're good people.

I've always been told it was a gypsy camp - used to have a seafood sign up front too.

It wouldn't be AP anymore if they made the gypsies move. It's always a humbling reminder of the roots and origination of the Parish.

I just looked this place up on Google and the Google Maps car didn't make it down those dirt roads to give an accurate assessment up close

However, that straight up reminds me of a mini Sunnyville Trailer Park...the difference being not filled with Canadians and instead hardened poor Louisiana people (Which is about 100000x scarier).

There's been entirely too much money invested in the Dutchtown area for this property to be the first thing you see as you exit the interstate here. I've been here for about 15 years now, and it still get furious every time I pass by it and I live about a mile south of the exit.

You dorks have ruined Prairieville. There used to be tittay bars galore out there. Then all you yuppie turds moved in and ran them off. Destroyed wonderful cultural landmarks. Now you're bitching about the Gypsies.

They were there first!

It's not a gypsy camp. My wife works at the new BR General on 73 about a quarter of a mile away. She says they get heroin overdoses from there with regularity.

Also, a friend of mine who is an AP detective says it is a drug infested problem area and was surprised DQ decided to locate next door.

Been there as far as I can remember, 30+ years. Used to sell fish out the back of a refrigerator truck back in the day, might still. Dogs all over the place. The main structure had doors but they weren't used, you basically couldn't diferenciate outside from in other than the fact there was a roof. Though it appeared it had given up it's purpose years ago. Interesting lot.
