Colonel Reb, now George Washington. My gosh, when will it end?

Give these communists an inch and they'll gladly take a mile.

Why do these schools give in so easy???

Should be at least a 75% requirement and should include alumni, not just the current educational transients

This. I bet these kids that are up in arms won't give 2 shits about GWU when they graduate. This should be decided by the alumni who still contribute and support the school.

The new Millenial mascot will be a half hispanic half black transgender atheist polysexual.
The students that voted on this arent millenials though........

One day, this board will finally understand they in fact are millenials and not the kids younger than them

quote:

Oxford Living Dictionaries describes a millennial as "a person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century."[25]

quote:

The birth years of 1981 to 1996 were used in 2019 to define millennials by PBS,[26] CBS,[27] ABC Australia,[28] The Washington Post,[29] and The Washington Times.[30] In 2018 they were used by The Los Angeles Times.[31]

quote:

Jonathan Rauch, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, wrote for The Economist in 2018 that "generations are squishy concepts", but the 1981 to 1996 birth cohort is a "widely accepted" definition for millennials.[32]

quote:

As of 2019, the Pew Research Center defines millennials as born from 1981 to 1996, choosing these dates for "key political, economic and social factors", including the September 11th terrorist attacks, the Great Recession, and the internet explosion.
quote:

The American Psychological Association describes millennials as those born between the years 1981 and 1996.[37] The Federal Reserve Board defines millennials as born between 1981 and 1996.[38] Ernst and Young uses 1981–1996.[39] Gallup Inc.,[40][41][42] MSW Research,[43] and the Resolution Foundation use 1980–1996.[44] PricewaterhouseCoopers has used 1981 to 1995.[45]

How so? Isn’t that what the country was built on? Democracy. The majority of the students at that school didn’t like the mascot. They voted to change it. Why should you care or have an opinion if you aren’t part of that group?

And it will be vaping.

Reminds me of the story from a few weeks/months ago where a group of students at Miami wants to update the logo the have the Ibis stop smoking a pipe, and instead replace it with a Juul.

This is so much irony

So leaders listing to the vote of the people is communism, but leaders not listening to the vote of the people and instead doing what they want is democracy

Cant make this up people

The kicker is, his idea to end the free vote of the people, is to have leaders not listen to the vote and instead do what they see as fit

The dude actually loves communism

Sounds like a Hillary voter. Disputing the results of elections and all. "no, that's not what the voters wanted. I know better."

A good leader would take this voice from the students he/she is paid to represent as part of the head of the university, and act on it after careful thought

He should reach out to donors and alumni as well, and get their pulse on this. If it’s across the board the change should be made regardless of what he thinks personally

A rash decision should not be made solely on the current students vote, as they only make up a part of a university, but it also shouldn’t be ignored

I have no idea how adults on this board from Louisiana and other states care at all

For sure. I don't know why people act like current students are all that matters and ignore the alumni.
