I will say their is a little guy on the land cruiser forum who has perfected the painful douchebag handshake. Guy shakes hands with normal pressure but pulls downward and upward with a snap.
Kills your wrist if you aren't ready for it.
When we shake now, I just hold my arm completely still. He is allowed no shake.

I feel the same way

Fist bumps are appropriate if you already know the person imo.....otherwise firm handshake. I also agree with the posters who immediately judge a limp handshake as an inferior person, because well they are.

I don't consider myself a germaphobe, but I am glad that as a woman, I can gracefully avoid a handshake situation. There are just too many weird germs and nasty people running around to have to routinely shake people's hands. Guy in church yesterday sneezes into his open palm, loudly and moistly and is shoving that hand out for everyone to shake. He reached out to shake my hand and I patted him on the arm. Didn't want to be rude, but dang - I know that sneeze had snot...

My PB deadlift was 455 no straps. I'm trying not to break your damned hand.

Huh? Ain't nobody gotta break a hand. Just firm.

We used to have a client, guy is huge like 6'5/250, who used to give this limp wristed almost patty cake handshake and really irked me for some reason or another. Just like a big kid.

I'm happy to just touch another mans hand, knowing he probably faps with that hand.

I'm just saying don't take it as an insult if someone shakes hands lightly. I shake hands on the lighter side, just habit from years being a drunk. If I screw up, someone can have 28 bones in a hand
Watching a guy have a mental meltdown when you shake his hand likes he's a 100lb woman is hilarious. It's even funnier if he responds with a firmer shake and you buckle his hand.

Taught my boys the proper way when they were 5. Firm shake and look directly into the eyes.

and I corrected him.
How did you correct him? Seems pretty trivial and douchey to call someone out over.

This- but everyone has done it, so I doubt anyone would judge you harshly when it happens.
The few "known" gay guys I know give the "dead fish" hand shake. This causes me to doubt the sexuality of someone that gives a limp handshake.

I have a firm shake, but it ticks me to no end when somebody squeezes too quick on a handshake extension, essentially grabbing my fingers instead of allowing the palms to meet. I can't stop him and correct it, but I feel the same people who complain about this are the same people who are the quick grabbers
