I’m wondering if it’s a case of her being the Aunt by marriage and not knowing them really well as maybe 1) she became the aunt later in life by a later marriage OR 2) KG husband (carris uncle) got the heck outta dodge and made a life for itself out of the poverty??

I was taught a 24 hour rule when dealing with an addict. Wait 24 hours before responding to their requests. Give yourself time to mull over their story and it anything doesn’t add up then trust that instinct.
