Wasn't trying to imply that. I agree with you second statement 100%. This is really weird.

I agree, it's still odd. People do odd stuff.

Families don’t always write the obit — often the funeral home will help.
You are correct, obits are pretty much fill in the blanks that funeral homes have. They sit down and fill in section by section according to their form and the person(s) giving the information.
Its pretty basic and published right away on their website. Then, the family has the choice to put it in newspapers, etc, which is pretty expensive for a few paragraphs.

Yep. Plus, some aunt who wasn't close with anyone (if this is who this person really is) doesn't really have any power over the situation anyway.

Lol yeah I love that part. This woman who wasn't close or know much about OP ends up on here smoothing out the situation.

well since I was a functioning drooling blob at the time a family member had control of the funds and it was spent paying medical bills and getting me in rehab.not having insurance they want Some $$ before accepting me
While very generous and most appreciated the amount didnt last long. It did get me to the point where I could sell my house and that's what I'm living off of.
this Commander Data stuff is tragic a mom/wife is dead , an addict is now a grieving addict and that's scary for him and the kids. And the kids,.... damn I cant imagine the grief and fear they're going through

Didn't the aunt say she was paying the bill on her credit card? If so, she should control the GFM.

Exactly. I think some here are being a bit naive still.
The death itself has not been questioned by anyone here, so some random distant relative has no incentive to keep showing back up here if she wasn't involved in receiving the money somehow.
She is just trying to make people feel better about their donations because she knows how to communicate effectively and she is downplaying the money entirely.

At this point I am mostly curious about which one of the amateur detectives will show up at the viewing/funeral to confront David/Sonya. Surely some of you live in or close by Gasden. Every story has to have an ending and an incident at the viewing/funeral seems like the most obvious way to end this cluster frick.

I’ve messaged with her at the beginning in case she didn’t know just suggesting someone keep a very close eye on him.
I’m under the impression that she’s truly only trying to help and that they’re just not close to the family of the deceased.
But I’m also under the impression that there may not be a bank account between the deceased/her sister/ etc. That’s likely why the aunt offered to help (I missed that post).

Y’all want to know how that money will be used if it gets released? Pay for the funeral, buying homeboy a new vehicle to go buy drugs with and drugs.
I’ve had junkies in my family and I do not abide them. Even after they’re in recovery.
