Driver responsible died as well.

He got off easy. He should have survived to stand trial for his crime.

Honestly that could be me...I'm 36 my wife is 32 and my daughter is 4...makes you appreciate life and what you have from where I'm sitting.

I've driven that stretch of road many times. 95 sucks to drive on. It's like an accordian in spots the way traffic stops, goes up to 70 MPH and then abruptly stops again. Rinse and repeat for 20 or so miles usually.

Automated cars need to happen now so these drug fed truck drivers don't get to ruin lives

Time to start the autonomous vehicle debate again. This is just awful.

At minimum all tankers and 18 wheelers

100% agree. These people will just have to find another line of work. There has been 2 18 wheelers in the woods on I12 the last week. It's getting ridiculous.

I assume it was the tanker truck drive who failed to stop.

How in the hell does a driver run up on a bunch of slowed vehicles on an interstate in broad daylight on a sunny day?

Guy was either texting or already dead.

I almost had a big tow truck plow into the back of me a few weeks ago. I was at the end of a dead stop on the interstate. I look back and see this giant truck going about 70 up on me. He had to swerve into the adjacent clear lane with a second to spare to avoid hitting me.

In Mississippi, the MHP has a ride along program with Truckers where they look for distracted drivers and ones that don't give truckers enough space. In my experiences, truckers are too blame just as much as any other driver. I see them constantly speeding or on their phones texting or web surfing.

Those dickheads are sitting high enough to see at least a half mile ahead of their current location. He should see brake lights early enough to slow the frick down.

Consequently, they cause the majority of the wrecks on the interstates.

Makes me think of something I witnessed the other night. A tractor trailer came barreling off a down ramp into a busy intersection. Didn't slow down and the light had changed to red maybe 5 seconds prior. Typically my reaction time is quick and I'll go within a couple seconds. LuckIly I was looking at something out the window and started late. A truck came barreling through at full speed. Would have killed anyone in its path. fricking truckers man

This was at clearview and airline in Metairie.
