Pretty awesome!
I did the Team Texas Driving School at Texas Motor Speedway several years ago. They have retired Cup and Xfinity cars that you can drive (with an instructor in the passenger side) or ride along with a pro driver. I did a combo package (now costs $500) for 10 laps driving and 4 laps riding. Both were amazing experiences. I got out and told my wife she had to do the ride along, and she loved it too.
I have my experience on a DVD, and I just about wore it out playing it with the surround sound cranked up.

This is why we are in trouble as a country. Too North America centric. America First doesn’t mean America Only.

Sorry for asking but I didn't see anything on the website about height restrictions, if you're over 6' can you still fit in the car?

Sounds awesome. The day I spent at the Porsche Driving Experience was one of the coolest things I've ever done. I bet the F1 car is incredible.

I did the experience of 6 laps at Talledega 2 seperate times. The first time I put the pedal to the metal and NEVER let off and this car didn't have a rev limiter. They say I did 175 mph. The 33 degree bank was awesome, the G's felt like you had a 400 pound fat lady on your shoulders! When I got done I thought I was gonna have to borrow a screwdriver to pry my fingers from the steering wheel. The second trip i wasn't nearly as nervous. Everyone should try it!

I did this around Daytona last year. Absolutely insane. Gave me much more perspective of how hard it is to do that for 3 hours, with 30+ cars literal inches away from you. After 6 laps i was exhausted lol

So in the 90s I ran the sports marketing program for our company and we sponsored an Indy Racing League car.
I begged and pleaded to drive the car during testing and finally got the team owner worn down to let me make a few runs in the back-up car.
What I learned after all that is I’m too big to get into the damn cockpit of those cars! At the time I was 6’2” and around 225 and my hips would not allow me into the freaking car. I probably tried for 30 minutes twisting and turning every way I could think of.
People who drive those cars are small AF.

I’d love to do that, but only at a track I’m already familiar with to really get the most out of it. I’m surprised more people don’t track their cars. Over the years I’ve tracked my 911, C7 Vette, C7 Grand Sport, Mustang Mach 1, and C8 Vette (I’d say the Mach 1 was the most fun). Tried hard to get friends with a ZL1 Camaro and another with a Ferrari to do track days, and all I got was excuses.
The guy with the ZL1 even did a Porsche track experience in Atlanta, and every time I’d see him he’d re-tell the story like it was the most fun he’s ever had. Yet he wouldn’t drive an hour to come do a local track day at NOLA in his own car. Track days are so safe - there are strict passing rules, no one wants to mess up their car, and I’ve never seen anyone damage their car at a track day.
Track days are full of regular daily driver cars - for most people you need a good 8-10 track days of experience before you ever need to start worrying about having a car with a “track package” (such as the Z51 package in a Vette). The biggest shock for beginners is how physical driving a track is once you’re going relatively fast through turns…and how slow you were really going when you thought you were taking turns fast on the street and on interstate exits.

What was wierd was leaving the track and getting on the interstate. I was going 95mph before I realized it.
