Maybe there were some carrying and they were smart enough not to start shite in a crowded restaurant. Sometimes it's easier to hand over your wallet rather than risk getting in a gun fight around a bunch of people.

First Patois and now Atchafalaya. I have family that lives in the Garden District and we'd eat there a lot. Uptown New Orleans restaurants really do need to hire armed guards. It greatly takes away from the charm and ambiance of eating at a good restaurant, but "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

So what you're saying is your wallet is more valuable than your life. Not very bright.

Armed guards? Might as well own up to the 3rd world label at that point

Awesome how they included a brief description of the perpetrators in the well written article.

It's the culture that makes NOLA so appealing. All part of the excitement. You bigots want to keep all that culture in certain parts of the city.

Someone please tell me if this story is true...

I was told the mayor's office banned the hiring of off duty police by any establishment serving alcohol (the intended target being restaurants), when it was alleged the restaurants weren't hiring white and black officers in the equal proportions. Industry people felt like this type of incident was sure to be the eventual outcome.
