You are kidnapped and a man tells you that the only way he will not kill you and everyone you love is if you manage to eat 20,000 calories in 24 hours. It must be the same exact food for all 20,000 calories. He gives you a menu of food to pick from
• 24 Moe’s Homewrecker Burritos
• 200 Zaxby’s Chicken Tenders
• 105 Krispy Kreme Glazed Donuts
• 143 Mayfield Ice Cream Samdwiches
• 11 Large Papa John’s Cheese Pizzas
• 39 Big Macs
• 143 Taco Bell Tacos
• 15 Ribeye Steaks (16 oz)
• 2000 shrimps
Which menu item are you gonna pick to keep yourself alive?
I’m inclined to think some of those choices on your list will kill you before you get shot!

Who the frick are you to tell someone what they can't do? Don't project your limits of weakness.
Competitive eater downs 22.5 pounds of prime rib in less than an hour at Ward's House of Prime
That's 120 more ounces than in this hypothetical, in less than an hour...by a woman.
The dounuts will wreck your insulin. Also their website says their donuts contain trans fat.

I know which one these cats would pick.

I don't think any of you baws could eat that much shrimp. Shrimp are an extremely lean protein... That's about 50 pounds worth of those little critters.
It just says 2000 shrimp. There is no required size

None of those even sound hard in 24 hours

Can I kill the kidnapper if and when I succeed?

Hassan Sifan just ran a sub 3:54 in the 1500m at the Women's Diamond League meet in Florence. I feel comfortable saying no one ITT can do it. Nobody here is Joey Chestnut so it is simply a waste of your time.

As long as you have a properly functioning endocrine system this won't happen. The average person's body is not going to take in more than 5k-7k in calories, they will just pee and poop the rest out. My diet is about 3.8k calories most of them simple carbs and my body might uptake 8-9k calories the rest will just go in the sewer.
The thing with the hypo is not what you think you could do but what you think is the most likely to produce success with your life and the lives of your loved ones on the line. Attempting 15 pounds of steak is probably one of the higher chances of failure on the list. If you listen to the competitive eaters with steak they always talk about how much their jaws hurts after eating steak, someone not practiced will have issues with chewing alone.
It also doesn't matter about what food you prefer to eat since no matter what you choose you will hate it by the end. I learned this years ago trying the Cool Hand Luke challenge, I love boiled eggs but didn't eat one for over a year after.

I’ve thought about this way more than I should…
I think the best answer is the donuts, as many others have said. It’s an average of 4-5 per hour.
I can make a case for ice cream and tacos. But the best answer is probably whatever actually weighs the least.

I’ve probably already done half of those listed in my life

My point about the donuts is I wouldn't want them in my body.
I really don't give a frick about your opinion at all. I know these are doable. The steaks are the only option I'd actually want to eat.

An intelligent person faced with death is not going to worry about what food is good for them just what choice presents the highest chance of success. When faced with ~180 ounces of donuts or 240 ounces of steak most people realize the obvious choice especially when most of it will just be flushed out of your system and also given the digestive loads each presents.

You may want to log off a discussion forum and find yourself a safe space if people find fault with your asertions.
They are all doable for the right person but for the average person that has never eaten 20k calories in their life, it is an exercise in determining the one with the highest chance of success. There are a lot of things I would rather eat than 105 donuts but it doesn't matter what it is after 3-4k calories of any food you are going to hate taking the next bite.

Holy frick, man. I don't care about your stupid opinion on a hypothetical.
I just don't. Nothing about it interests me at all. Do you need a safe space from things you find uninteresting? If anything, you seem offended.

143 Taco Bell tacos seems like the only one that is possible. Could maybe eat 39 Bug Macs but I doubt it.
Tacos it is
