These kids will remember forever that they paid in advance, then got there and were not allowed to drink on the beach.

Their tourist dollars will be spent elsewhere for the next forty years.

People in their 30's buying shite, and thinking its cool. Don;t think the same shite is cool when they turn 40-50. They bought condos and homes near or on beaches a few years ago and thought it was cool. Now they are crusty old farts who hate it.

People on the banks of the Guadalupe River are a prime example of this to me. Butthurt over hippies and college kids pissing. they enjoyed the river when they bought the property. A few years ago they wanted te river and what the river has been for decades to change.

You do realize that "these kids" make up a small portion of the money that area sees, right? "These kids" don't matter. No one cares where you go party as immature, entitled, self absorbed obnoxious undergrads with very limited incomes.

By the time you become immature self absorbed obnoxious adults with significant income (i.e. You actually matter), you too will want the younger partying crowd to go elsewhere so you will support these types of bans. Just like the older folks do now.

Or you could just quit pissing in the river or in plain sight of everyone else. Doubt the river has been a public toilet for decades. But I could be wrong.
Why don't you just quit pissing in it if that's the only thing annoying the people who own the property?

i doubt they will miss the following:

1. Packing 10 people in a hotel room
2. Eating Taco Bell
3. Taking shots in the hotel room so you don't have to buy drinks at the bar
4. Puking on the carpet when you get back to the room
5. Treating the beach like your personal trash can

I promise they would prefer the kids gone and have the families that stay away during this time to avoid the dolts.

The month of March is huge for local businesses. Al.com has an article up that contains many quotes from PCB business owners who are suffering. The same will eventually happen in GS if the police aren't reigned in.

I don't think so. the drunken student crowd has not been their norm. It's still families and snow birds this time of year. Worst case scenario is the drunken student is allowed to continue and the families/ snowbirds stop coming. That's Why they've taken this action. They have enough steady and mature visitors that they don't need/want to develope a PCB reputation.

Aggies are the scum of the earth. Can't step on their grass but they will gladly leave trash where ever they go. They probably used the trash cans for kegs without realizing they could just put it in sand. fricking shoobies.

It's beer and a six hour float? No stops, no breaks, no toilets. You pee when you have to pee.

And some of these properties are many acres. So a dude peeing behind a tree? Who cares if it's 800 yards from your house. I'm not really condoning it. Just trying to make a point.

People bought these homes years ago knowing full well what they were getting into. Because at the time of purchase it was prevalent and they were part of it. Just because 10 years later when life progresses and you don't want to hang around college and post college aged kids anymore, it shouldn't give you the right to pass an ordinance criminalizing a behavior that's been a part of Texas culture since the 80's. I mean beer on the river, not pissing on private property.

That's like buying a house next to a bar and then bitching about the noise. Certain nights you want to be part of the noise, but if a good Thursday night is happening for the bar and you have to work in the morning, you can't cry because of the noise.

Apples and oranges Wannabe. A bar has a legal right to exist. They can't disturb the peace tho. And pissing in public, regardless of who common or trivial, is still a misdemeanor offense. So while I agree it's probably harmless, you are legally wrong.

And who the hell are you to tell the property owner what YOU can do on his property? Do you not realize how preposterous you sound?

No. No. No.

We agree completely. I was more making an argument that the logic of "because this happens, this must change". In relation to an attempted beer ban on the river. Or a beer restriction of a certain number.

ABSOLUTELY if I am caught pissing on your property, you have every right to tell me to frick off and press charges. Just not to try and change the laws on the river for EVERYONE because a dude pissed in your yard. Or think of any other example of a nuisance to downright vandalism. It should be dealt with case by case. Not take away all the freedom of a beach or a river or a natural recreational area that is near private property.

Basically saying it's not right that because a guy pissed in your yard or you found a beer can on your property that nobody can drink on the Guadalupe River. Or the gulf coast.
