I guess ol’ baw out in the field qualified for some big bass fishing tournament circuit....but, shocker, he can’t afford to travel around the country fishing everyday...so he’s asking for donations, selling overpriced raffle tickets, etc. Even gone as far as asking friends to help him out by asking their co-workers, etc for funds or to sell overpriced raffle tickets on his behalf.

How embarrassed do you have to be as a grown man to walk around like a teenage kid asking other grown men to fund your hobby???? I like to fish too, baw...but I also have to work and support my family. Sell your own damn raffle tickets.

Can you donate to my softball team? We need new shirts with our nicknames on them.

I think I want mine to have "B-Rad" on it

Let him enjoy his fishing. You dont have to pay, its probably the only source of excitement in his life.

Drew brees plays a kids game. I play a guitar. Pro wrestlers in the 1980s sometimes depended on kindness of others at times..

Opportunities happen in life that you're not always prepared for. Sometimes it takes asking for help. If you dont like it, I guess you could always start a thread somewhere.

this actually happens??

I know dudes that fish circuits on the side, but i've never seen anyone of them have fundraisers for their costs???

If you're good enough you get sponsors.

Dude must suck.

Sounds like a typical Hillary voting deadbeat to me.

I don’t know how it works, but if ol’ baw was good enough to be successful, he wouldn’t be a 52 year old field hand begging for fishing money.

Should have initially listed age. I assumed mid 20s, yeah he should have some savings.

After reading your post, I would suggest you not give him your money. Thanks for bringing this topic though

You should offer to wash his boat. That's the worst part of going fishing

i usually just say no

Most people I know who do this are either:
1. Homebrewers saving up for larger equipment
2. Local Musicians trying to pay for tours and recording time
3. Cooks saving up for a food truck

The only ones I sometimes support are the musicians since it’s really just essentially pre-ordering the album before it’s made.

I got $5 for him. Can I just give it to you, or PayPal him?

If he qualified for a big bass tourney can he not try to get sponsorships from people who make fishing gear?
