no, 17
This is one of those numbers you definitely don't want to ballpark.

So, when he was a senior, she was a sophomore - SHOCKING I tell ya - SHOCKING.

Complete failure of parenting - that means he was 22 - the age of a college senior (or a kid who could have done an entire enlistment in the U.S. military) when she was a HS sophomore - this one I would take quite a bit of umbrage as a parent.

A third was also in a relationship with some 20 plus year old and I believe she is 17.

Okay, bigpete - this is poor reporting. WTF is "20 plus"? If he's 20 and a day - that means she was a freshman and he was a senior - SHOCKING. If he's 29 then:

I still cringe when I hear these kids saying things like "hubby" and my "mother-in-law".

One of these girls is 18 and another is 17 - you don't think girls that age are old enough or mature enough to start making plans about the future? They're typically 3 to 5 years more mature at this age than boys - so within 2 to 3 years of age difference, this should generate NO creepiness vibe at all.

Yeah a junior high girl shouldn't be involved with a HS senior - and maybe the HS boys should stay away altogether - and the HS freshman girl should not have a boyfriend in college, but I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill in some of these 2 to 3 year gaps.

You really think they are mature enough to make plans for their future?

I know enough 25-30 year old women not mature enough to think about and actually plan for their future.

Sure there's a rare exception but the odds that all three of these girls the OP is referring to know what they are doing is slim to none.

I'm sorry but dating high school while in college is pathetic.
Especially if the relationship starts while the two are in different educational levels.

Some of them are. It's nothing these girls thinking of a boyfriend as husband material or calling his mother "mother-in-law".

That's going to vary wildly, but I don't dispute your point. Some kids mature quickly, others never do.

I tend to agree with this, but I keep coming back to - what if the relationship started while both were in high school? Nothing wrong with that, per se - happened with me and Mrs. Midnight - I was 2 years older than her and we met/starting dating in high school. We were the only prom couple to attend my 30th high school reunion.

Yeah - I think college freshmen males should not be trolling the high schools for dates - I absolutely agree with that.

I was 18/19 and dated a 15/16 year old way back. I was in college, but a local community college and she was in HS. We first met/talked when we were both in HS but did not date till I was in college. Her parents were fine with us dating.

Looking back it was not that big of a deal. But the 24 year old dating HS is just weird too me.

17 and older can do what they want. The boyfriends better watch out if the girl is 16 and younger. That is a definite way to be required to register as a sex offender. My wife is 13 years younger than me, but we met while she was in her 20's.

I was friends with a girl who was 16 when she started dating her 22 yr old boyfriend. Yes, she took him to her prom.17 and 23 at time of prom. She was an OT 9 irl too. He seemed like an OK guy, but he didn't want to hang out with her friends, the high schoolers, much.

You realize 75 years ago it wasn't uncommon for girls to get married at 16, 17, 18 years old?

That wasn't even uncommon 30-40 years ago.

I get that, but I just don't remember a time where literal high school girls were dating 20 plus men and their parents were all on board.

No offense, but how did yal even meet in any sort of a social setting?

This is what I always find interesting about these things. I'm 4 years older than my sister (no pics) and only recently (I'm late 20s) have I started going out and being in social settings with her friends or people her age. Before then, they were like children to me.

How did yal start hanging out?

Let me give you my number. Pass it along if these girls want to start dating guys in their 30's. Obviously only if they're legal age.

All of my wives were 18 when I married them. As soon as I saw the first sign of a thought being formed in their head, I divorced them. I've had a great life so far.

The summer of my 17 year I started dating a girl 21.
No big problems.

Wife grew up in small town Alabama and there were 7th grade girls who went to prom with juniors and seniors in HS.

That is criminal in my opinion.

That's nothing. They're not even trying. I once knew a guy who was 30 dating a high school senior.

Not being able to go to prom was a hurdle.
