re: Growing trend or local phenomenon? High school girls openly dating men in 20's

I met my wife when she was 17 and I was 22. We didn't hook up until years later but we were hanging out when she was just a teen.
I think if you are a guy in your twenties and you want to date younger girls, aim for age 20. High school girls are immature as shite. I don't see any benefit in going that young. Stick with age twenty and nobody can say shite to you.

My wife of 12yrs was 17 when we met and started dating. I was 24.
So you were 2 years out of college dating a Junior in high school??

Not many 19 year olds in high school where I'm from
Which is the question I am asking.
I am not talking about girls who are in college, I am talking about girls who are still in high school.
Personally, I say once a kid is in college than you are free to do whatever you like.

You can be 18 in college, date a junior or senior that anywhere from 21-23, but if your 18 in high school you can't.
That's a fair point, I just don't think I would go for it with regards to my daughter.

Well, then maybe you should put high school girls in your OP.

I get that, but I just don't remember a time where literal high school girls were dating 20 plus men and their parents were all on board.
You never heard of the the phenomenon of sticking with high school sweethearts?

I did...
Added it, I thought it was implied when I mentioned home coming and other campuses.

No offense, but why is it any of your business after she's 18?

How many 24 year olds are two years out of college?

No offense, but why wouldn't it be any of my business what my 18 year old daughter is doing, especially if she is still in high school.
Now, once she is in college I couldn't stop her, but that doesn't mean I have to enable or support the situation if I do not like it.
In the case of the young ladies I referred to, those guys may be very nice, but that is often not the case.

Dumbest thing I've ever seen people use to make life changing decisions

One was 18 and she said her boyfriend was 20. One was 18 and said her boyfriend was 24 but they had been dating since she was 16.
These are a bit different as far as I'm concerned. first example is not only a 2 year gap, but one that would have essentially been perfectly fine two years before while both were in high school...
The second one is a 6+ year gap which isn't that big a deal when you get a bit older, but given what you said would have meant a 22 year old guy was "dating" a 16 year old. Other than sex, there's almost nothing a 22 year old guy ought to have in common with a 16 year old girl.

I would think online dating and tinder are blurring the lines between the two worlds now.

Do you read the posts you reply to? This was what I quoted you:

You're not too good at getting your points across

Especially since people are so honest about their ages on there. Especially when it leads to rape allegations.

I am aware, but you chose to only highlight me saying I wouldn't go for it if my 18 year old daughter wanted to day some 20 year old man if she was in high school.
What my 18 year old daughter does is my business even more so when she is high school. What don't you understand about that statement.
I mean, I can explain it all day, but I can't come over there and understand it for you...
