I tend to avoid prepared produce for the most part. I think I'll be even more careful in the future.
You’re welcome. Convenience factor is what is so tempting but it’s not worth it from your health or budget standpoint.
Thank you but I wouldn’t consider myself heroic. The growers… those guys deserve the accolades. The PCAs, geneticists, harvesters all do great and necessary jobs to ensure our food supply and we really do feed the world. It’s remarkable how much food we generate and where it goes. I was a small part of that for 15 years but was honored to be in it. Thus my screen name. I do love fresh figs and we grow them out here in large numbers.

You've never worked in a produce department at a grocery store.

Any other tips?
Nothing you haven’t heard from the food safety side of things. Picking some produce I could probably point a thing or two out. Did you have anything in particular in mind?

It’s chlorine water too. Stops microbial growth. But over time will make you sick. Therefore, don’t buy it. Or you can soak it in baking soda solution to clear the chlorine and pesticide residues.

There’s literally a category of produce called “wet veg”

At least the mist systems will keep the humidity up without leaving things dripping wet. But ill maintained ones drip.
The same as propagation tables.

Who are they doing this for? This is crazy.
I take the time to rinse off a bit. I use a freah new bar of soap from over in the bath section, though, I'm not an animal.

Propaganda is wrong no matter whose table it is on.
