They shut down every year, yet you still plan poorly. Quit crying and buy your cigarettes earlier next year.

What the stores should do is open and then charge 50% “convience tax” for people that forget Christmas is coming, then split that 50% among the employees working

I just left Winn Dixie. They were open till 9pm and usually are when no one else is.
They get the business

Christmas is on the same day every year. Don't wait until the last minute to buy groceries.

Honestly, this kinda annoys me.
I’m sure there’s at least a few workers who’d like to get a few more hours in. The amount of shoppers out on Christmas to workers who would volunteer might work ok.
There are two 24/7 places near me I go to almost every day. They ain’t mom and pop joints

Two ways to look at it
It annoys you, which hurts no one else but punishes you for being impatient
Or
A lot of people get to spend Christmas Eve with family... which is pretty cool...
It's your choice to be annoyed

But the store doesn’t get my money...
This guy may not spend his $15 at their store because they won’t stay open late on Christmas Eve...somehow, I believe the store will manage without your sale.

Christmas next year is on Wed., December 25th. Buy the essentials and some extra the Sunday before.
You're welcome.

I have no clue what’s wrong with wishing stores were open. i also don’t understand how offering an extra chance to make some money is a great crime.
It’s not some great offer
If that store decides to stay open then they HAVE to staff the store for that day. So it’s not a “choice” for most employees. They just have to work.

Why are people talking about planning ahead. Planning ahead has nothing to do with it? I don’t need anything from the store. Anything I would need is across the street from the store at the cvs. I would have made a purchase from the store if it was open on the walk home. It wasn’t so I didn’t. Not planning ahead has nothing to do with it.

you should have planned this thread out a little better

And the stores don’t need to be open.
Sounds like an easy concept

Proper preparation prevents piss-poor performance.

I got a mobil gas station 2 blocks from my house. If I needed to grab the basics I could go there....

Be thankful this Christmas that you have that option. Some people don't.
