So now that many supply chains jams have smoothed out and prices of most raw materials have come down...why aren't prices coming down in tandem? Do you believe in greed-flation? Or is that just some Joe Biden Liberal BS?

And before you dolts chime in with "inflation is coming down" you need to understand exactly what that means...it doesn't mean prices are coming down it means prices are still going up but at a slower pace.

I definitely think there is some padding going on because everyone thinks the economies are going to get worse.

I can’t think of a point in my life where large corporations didn’t seek to maximize prices for goods. I don’t think this is a new phenomena.

What is much more pernicious to me is the instances where they are acting like they are charging the same amount but are giving you less product for your money.

Printing trillions of dollars over the course of a few years has an effect on things

Give it a few months. The media will be sharing all the great news that our economy is rebounding and on record pace just in time for elections.

Government spending is the cause of inflation, no matter what POTATUS claims.

Why would most of the companies reduce their prices? For many products, customers proved that no matter what the price, they were going to purchase. Maintaining pricing while reducing costs brings in more profit, which is the point of running a business. The only thing that will end the trend is a company undercutting competitors prices, but unfortunately many industries in today's market simply lack competition

As much as people try to figure a way around it the laws of supply and demand always win out in the long run.

Prices aren’t coming down as fast because demand is still high.

All I know is White Claws changed their tall boys from 24 to like 19oz. Cans the same height just a little skinnier. Still charging the same price.

The government is the only entity that can print money as well. Government is the sole owner of inflation.

Because they don't have to. We are used to paying higher prices now, so profit.

People are sensitive to price increases, even small ones, which makes prices sticky (and why companies prefer shrinkflation to raising prices). Because of this, I think companies are taking advantage of the fact that prices are expected to be rising now, in order to preemptively price in future increases and save on future losses of consumer goodwill.

Yeah, that's one of my biggest gripes about him. He did absolutely nothing to stop spending. In fact, quite the opposite.

They will when possible to profit. Market will make sure of it. Always has, always will.

If company A can sell an item cheaper, but in more volume, this making more profit as a result, they are going to undercut company B every time. Then company B has to respond. And the big wheel keeps on spinning.

The supply and demand curve is undefeated in a free market.

Its very real. It is just not oil/energy companies like the left-leaning media would have you believe. I know some major manufacturing business owners and had some of these discussions. They will all charge inflated rates until they simply can't get away with it. They started seeing prices reductions in raw materials and shipping a year ago and are just starting to lower prices to stay competitive and fight back demand levels.

This is why the fed needs consumers to break. They absolutely NEED pain in the market. Only way to affect demand levels, which is the only way to end inflation

I think we need a crash and major deflationary pressure. The short term pain will suck but we need to take our medicine.
