Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think working ones way up the chain is a negative. I don’t think being a teacher should be counted against an applicant. I just don’t see it as a requirement nor do I see it as especially helpful as a superintendent.

It’s much more important for principals to have teaching backgrounds because they are managing teachers directly.

Superintendents don’t do that. They are basically the CEO of the system.

I agree with that, but I also hate that Superintendent and School Board representative positions are largely just a glorified popularity contest. Everyone just votes for the person they know. Hell, a superintendent in north AL just had his home raided, and I mean RAIDED, by the FBI. He's on paid administrative leave whilst things get sorted out.

So, I was talking to a friend of mine about this and she said that the white lady they picked had complaints about her at Walker High and had some scandal involving her husband?

I thought the lady was from Florida? I wasn't in the mood to do a google search battle so I just dropped it.

She has family in BR, but just quickly looking I don't see anything about teaching outside of Florida after graduating from FSU in 1979.

Her sister stayed in BR and married someone from BR area according to one article, but I have no clue what they do.

“Then she chocked a kid in his home in 2018,”

Vitamin-related child abuse* is a very serious charge.

I’d sue for defamation.

The only thing anyone has on Gravy is they Silky opposed him. C Denise cannot stand him. They're also 2 birds going after same worm.

It’s not the same lady
The lady at Walker is up for a promotion
Her husband works for the school board & IIRC backs up what she says

IIRC she was the one that wouldn’t let the little boys go to school because the parent went to jail & a neighbor took them in, brought them to regular bus stop each morning but since they didn’t live in the house & neighbor wasn’t official guardian she said they couldn’t prove address
School board was no help because her husband is over her school

Someone should tell Gravy that the broad had an EdD which is quite a few steps from a PhD

From where? Those degrees are pretty easy to basically purchase online.

Yeah, I figured she had the people mixed up.

I have kids about to start school in Central. They want all kinds of evidence that we live in the district. Things that don't even really prove that we live here. I'm almost tempted to say "no, how about you prove that I don't live at my house?" I mean, they are required by law to provide education to students in the district. It's compulsory.

Wanting to kick a kid out because he had major family drama like that is pretty low. Let them finish the year at least.
