The socialist/leftist countries of the Western Hemisphere (Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, etc.) are getting pounded.

Yet, people keep voting for more of it. Incredible.

Not really. Japan is the only country that employs anything close to MMT. And only countries with monetary sovereignty would be able to employ it anyway, which most countries don't have.

300,000% in Venezuela? How? Does inflation really count if nobody buys anything?

Money is weighed at the purchase...no counted per se.

Argentina going for the record with multiple years of 100% inflation.

I was just down there, they REALLY want paper US dollars. The taxi drivers will give a nice discount for them. Not Zimbabwe levels of inflation yet there, but it's been absurd for a long time.

Interesting factoid - Steve Goodman wrote Banana Republics, not Jimmy Buffett.

Surprising that India has one of the best Inflation numbers. The USD to INR has been off the charts last one year.

yep. American corporations with offices down there can’t hold onto folks unless the pay them in USD. You can’t give those employees raises fast enough to retain them.

The crate of 36 eggs which used to be the best value at the grocery store were ~$4.50 about a year ago. They are $15 now.
