re: GQ: Men don’t read enough (or at least a wide enough range) of fiction.

I’m willing to be it’s just a handful compared to the 1000s of books for women.
It’s a demand thing. There are tons of female authored blogs on books they’re reading. I doubt there are any male authored ones. And those blogs Re very popular. My wife is in two book clubs and those blogs are where both book clubs get a lot of their book choices. They don’t always read chick-lit though.

Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin
Definitely a great read, though not fiction.

I once knew a woman that said she was only into men that read - then she met a high school dropout with a big dick - they got married and had 3 kids.

What you read tends to be a reflection of your interests.
I can read military histories that would be dry to a lot of people but Jane Austin would bore me to fricking tears.
Guys will read Stephen King, Tom Clancy, George RR Martin, etc, because that stuff is appealing.
Stuffy British aristocrats? Less so.

Why is she sleeping with her boyfriend to begin with? Trashy bitch.

It's hilarious to watch these lefty loons tacitly point out that there are indeed differences between men and women but refuse to accept it.
She's simply repeating what Jordan Peterson has been saying for years yet I'm sure she thinks he's a neo nazi.

It goes beyond reading - the shite they watch on Netflix gives me a gdam headache. I have to leave the room sometimes because there is so much idiotic dialog. I don't understand how making life's drama 100 times worse than it actually is entertains anyone. I want an escape from the actual reality that I live in.

I quickly skimmed the article, but I didn't see any mention that women need to start reading more material that men gravitate towards. It's funny how that's always a one way street.
But the whole article is basically a very run of the mill "old straight white men, especially dead ones, are the devil" article with a different colored bow on it.

Indeed, he bears all the hallmarks of a fully reconstructed man: NTS on the radio, bell hooks on the shelf, a yoga membership used at least thrice-weekly.
In this a-hole of a sentence I only know what yoga means.
Do I need to be “reconstructed”?

That's... not a man. That "reconstructed" part sounds disgusting. His reading list sounds like mine, with some GRR Martin and Brandon Sanderson thrown in. I can't stand that shite she reads. Her numale is right, that shite is boring.

Fiction is gay and pointless with a few exceptions. 1984 comes to mind.

I'd rather read "How To Be An Antiracist" than anything else by Jane Austen.

1984 and the movie Idocracy both started as fiction but are quickly becoming documentaries/non-fiction
