The government or leader here isn’t just criticizing the company he’s demanding the company do something. He might as well yell at Warner Bros for not releasing the Snyder cut. Or at Audi for not giving us an A6 Avant in the US.
Which there is nothing illegal about

The media and the left complained about Trump not using the Defense Production Act, now people are complaining he did.

Right now, they have a choice.
If he enacts the DPA, there is no choice.

The Act contains three major sections. The first authorizes the President to require businesses to sign contracts or fulfill orders deemed necessary for national defense. It also allows the president to designate materials to be prohibited from hoarding or price gouging.[3] The second section authorizes the President to establish mechanisms (such as regulations, orders or agencies) to allocate materials, services and facilities to promote national defense. The third section authorizes the President to control the civilian economy so that scarce and/or critical materials necessary to the national defense effort are available for defense needs.[4][5][6]
quote:
The Act also authorizes the President to requisition property, force industry to expand production and the supply of basic resources, impose wage and price controls, settle labor disputes, control consumer and real estate credit, establish contractual priorities, and allocate raw materials towards national defense.[4]

New updates:
GM is now going to build ventilators in their Indiana factory.
They will start in April and goal is 10,000 per month, with potential increases.
That is significantly more than their “6000 by the end of April”.
That is all from the WSJ.

As a liberal I feel it was racist of him to close off China, but once he did it I feel he waited too long.

It seems a bit odd to be so reliant upon an auto manufacturer for production of medical equipment. What could go wrong?
Recalls are incoming....
They offered, and gave a promised quota. The government accepted the offer. That is not being reliant. In fact, had that offer not been made, my guess is they would have found alternative means by now. Instead, this is a set back. Thus the public loud cap.

That’s their biggest problem. It’s all they do with Trump, so much so that it’s like listening to a constant yapping dog that won’t shut up. People eventually become numb to the incessant yapping and tune it out. Who’s to know which particular yap means I should be on alert?

You'd be surprised at how quickly they can retool and honestly, they're an already established manufacturer. It's the best option to that's already set up for mass production.

They got to have plans, tooling for the machines, components from the suppliers, and a plan to have parts.
If they are not in this business it is not like poof we can mfg ventilators.

This board is so bored
you can tell because a Putin fan sparked a conversation about authoritarianism without any pushback

Trump needs to make up his mind. Is this serious or not?
Trump told Hannity: “I don’t believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators. You go into major hospitals sometimes, and they’ll have two ventilators. And now all of a sudden they’re saying, ‘Can we order 30,000 ventilators?’”
What does that have to do with this thread?
