Trump has repeatedly said that JBE is a good governor despite being a democrat.

How you guys continue to stand up for Rispone after one of the worst political campaigns I've ever seen is amazing.
He had the loud endorsement of the president in a red state and still couldn't beat ole boy JBE. Pretty sad actually.

Because Rispone made the stupid mistake of slandering Ralph Abraham as a grifting Never Trumper that votes with Nancy Pelosi and steals tax dollars.
After that, JBE spent a million dollars in North Louisiana putting Rispone's comments on blast and JBE ended up winning 10-12% of Abraham voters and that made the difference in the end for him to survive.
Rispone learned that you never, ever piss off voters you will need later. Don't frick over a redneck and expect them to play ball later.

I’m not anti Trump at all but Rispone seemed like a frickin moron. His entire platform was he has a Trump sticker on his truck. Like the guy above me said you can disagree with JBE but him and Trump still get along. He’s not a typical coastal Democrat.

The carpetbaggers Rispone hired to run his campaign had zero knowledge of Louisiana politics and instead gave him a bland one size fits all platform like what works in other southern red states works in Louisiana too.

JBE's political heroes are Edwin Edwards and Huey Long, two of the most corrupt Governors in Louisiana history that institutionalized corruption, grift and stole an incredibly bright future from its people.
And JBE is the third worst Governor in Louisiana history behind those two.

On the other hand, Ralphy coulda put some effort into campaigning and tried to, at least, be more than the “who?” candidate south of Elick. I’ve never seen a more reluctant candidate exhibit less energy into getting elected than Ralphy. I don’t know what the republicans offered him to do it, but he couldn’t have half assed a run for governor any more than he did against Eddie.
If you don’t want to run, say so. Don’t phone it in
Like Abraham did. If he practiced medicine like he ran for governor, it’s easy to see why he’s a politician.

He did.
He flew his plane all over the state and met as many people as he could and had endorsements of a lot of prominent people, organizations and political committees in Louisiana.
You're just confusing a lack of negative campaigning against Rispone as low energy because he rightfully understood that you just cannot piss off voters you will need later and that's a harsh and painful lesson Rispone learned a month later in November.

Eddie would at least I hope recruit business to the state that would create more jobs. JBE only cares about his corrupt family such as Tangi sheriff and his trail lawyer buddies.
