Had one a couple years back. Thought I had to crap at first, but then the pain escalated. A demerol IV and flowmax is your best friend when it gets bad. Feels like a tiny hammer tapping your nuts

Mine felt like someone was stabbing me repeatedly in the back. Hands cold, forehead sweaty. Didn't know if I was gonna pass out or throw up.

Sure it's not ur appendix?

I've had stones. Usually they escalate in pain. And if small u hardly feel them.

The last time the pain stayed the same for a few days. Oschners said a stone but itvwoukdnt pass. Got a catscan and was the appendix.

It's like peeing glass when you finally pass it. My first couple were worse than my last few, if that makes you feel better.

I had one too about 2 years ago. First was a trip to the ER and a CAT Scan, 12 mm stone.

ER gave me some pain meds and flomax. a few days later, I started peeing sand one night. Pain had subsided, so I quit taking the pain medicine, and after a few trips to the urologist, big stone was there.

Then I had to have lithotripsy to get it removed and had a stent for 2 weeks. No stones again, but a few other scares of a possible stone. For both the lithotripsy, and the stent removal, I was totally out under general anesthesia.

The pain medicine and the burning when you pee is the worst part.

In the 1960's the doctor prescribed a six pack of beer for my uncle in the hospital for his stone. I drink water with lunch and dinner, and gave up soda and tea after having my first and only one at 18. Worst pain ever, and as someone already said, you'll wish you were dead.

How long does a kidney stone take to pass generally?

How old are you?

Keep us updated. This thread has me terrified.

When I had mine, I was one of the lucky ones to get groin and dick pain about 3 days ahead of time. I sat in a deposition and could feel my heartbeat in the head of my penis and not in a good way.

Then I thought I had an infection because it burned to pee. Went to doc and had blood in urine. He set me up with a urologist. Before I could get to urologist I was in ER getting toradol through an IV push. Got sent home with pain meds and Flomax and passed 2 days later in a strainer.

The bladder to dick part is not bad. It's kidney to bladder where the real pain is. And the pain is when it gets caught in the ureter and pressure backs up in your kidney. It feels like getting stabbed in the flank, but you can't point to where it hurts.

So I've been having a minor cramping feeling in my right side for the past couple days and I couldn't figure out what it was. Got a CT today

Do you consume a lot of health care?

it's a small kidney stone. I asked if they knew the exact size and they said it was "too small to measure".

Well hell, based on not going to the doctor and getting CTs for short duration minor aches and pains, I've probably passed a couple of dozen of those and worse.

sounds like my first stone...I just had a good bit of aching in my back initially. moved over and I got some cramping in my lower stomach (like I needed to shite) and a strange burning/stabbing in my taint region. the pain never became unbearable, but was just really a strange combination of pains that I had never felt before. I was not able to sit or lay still at all and in the latter stages I sweated a lot and threw up a few times.

whole process lasted about 10 hours for me. it is a damn good feeling to feel that stone coming down your schlong and hearing it plop in the water!

Toradol
Flomax
Water/Beer

I can tell you that you aren't in any kind of pain right now because posting here wouldn't be on your to-do list.
I've had them for the past 15 years. I pretty much have a run-in with them every couple of months. I have learned the warning signs, get a couple days notice and prepare myself now. Also having a Dr. friend give you Spritx, nasal toradol; to keep at home helps. ;)
Too small to measure and the pain meds they gave you coupled with no flomax tells me that they aren't worried.

My largest one that required lithotripsy was 12mm. You'll know pain when you get one of those.

As stated, small ones usually dissolve before getting to the penis. If you get more, you should increase your magnesium or decrease unfiltered water and possibly decrease milk or sodas, etc. You can examine your diet and probably figure out what. All the minerals in tap water is a major cause of stones. I learned the hard way.
