You’re dumb. Tell that to the families of loved ones killed when they were impaired at .04. Avoiding a DUI is easy. Don’t drive after drinking. Only idiots do it.
Invalid argument for this person's actions.
This is the same sort of argument dumb people use for banning guns. Guns kill people so ban them...
Lighten up Francis.

#1 rule to avoid being pulled over is to make sure everything is current on your car and works.
A $2 light bulb just cost you about $5k.
Lawyer up, first and foremost. They can usually work it down to something lessor. If you don't blow it's even better. Even if you lose your license for a year, you can apply for a hardship license.

I wish there were stats on sneezing while driving, when I sneeze and drive I feel like I'm about to lose control.
If someone is .04 and hits someone, I'm blaming bad driving, not the liquor.

How many pissed off drunk drivers and bitter drunks are reading and posting in this thread now?
Judging by the upvote/downvote ratio on the first page, I imagine it has to be quite a lot.

Stupid fricking idiot. You made the choice. You drank and drove. I hope the throw you under the jail.

I sure don’t condone dwi but I always believed the law is to punish someone who causes harm. Is there really a difference between getting hurt in an accident from dwi and just a distracted bad driver ? No. As far as entities that draw blood without consent like jeffersonnparish, that’s so unconstitutional it’s pathetic. I do t even care what the Supreme Court says. They’re WRONG on this issue.

Any reputable lawyer will tell you not to blow.
You don't say shite
You tell them to click you up and proceed accordingly.
All blowing does is provide the prosecutor evidence...

But you don’t have to fear cops if you don’t break the law. It’s a really simple concept.
No one feels more "safe" when they see a cop in their rearview mirror. They feel threatened even if there's nothing wrong. Only drivers that don't feel this way are cops or public officials because they are the only ones that know they have nothing to fear.

If they don’t make you appear in front of a judge before releasing you don’t they normally let you out once you blow zeros? You drank 3 beers and didn’t blow zeros for 12 hours?
Posted on 12/10/17 at 4:47 pm to BigPapi21
If you didn’t blow, there is very little evidence against you. Highly doubt the officer went to the restaurant to get a copy of your tab or interview your server. If he stopped you for an equipment violation, a competent attorney should get ticket reduced to a reckless driving at minimum...a good attorney would get the stop thrown out of court all together. Saying that, it’s gonna cost you, but I’d pony up and get the best local attorney in your area.

DUI/DWI is the biggest criminal cash cow business there is. It’s one hell of a racket because the BAC levels are intentionally lowered to create a prohibition like atmosphere. Thank god for Lyft and Uber because now the cops have to concentrate on other BS violations to offset the lost DWI revenue the OP’s friends have avoided.
Posted on 12/10/17 at 5:56 pm to MrLSU
I personally don’t think it’s about revenue as much as how DUI’s relate to wrecks. Add in modern day technology that distract drivers and higher populations on the road, it’s a dangerous game and usually the drunk walks away while the innocent family suffers serious injuries. I sure don’t want to see BAC’s raised to give drunks more freedom to drive but I also wish police used DISCRETION and would allow folks to call rides to come get them. Big difference in someone not using a turn signal, but driving safe and being .08 than someone speeding and being .08. Just my opinion...

How much did each one of those beers cost you now?
Posted on 12/10/17 at 6:06 pm to ugastreaker
Someday when the technology is perfect built-in breathalyzers will be standard and required on all cars.
It will be like seatbelts.
For a generation people were all "it is my right to fly out of the windshield upon impact" but now seatbelts are mostly accepted as part of the car.
You don't have a right to drive a golf cart on the freeway. Someday breathalyzer equipment will be part of the definition of a legal vehicle.
And it may not be a breathalyzer, it may be something completely passive, who can guess where tech goes?
And at that point anyone who argues against it is arguing for the right to drive drunk

I hate people who drink and drive. I almost never drink. Now. Less than ten cocktails in the last year no wine or beer.
Though I won't say in my youth I didn't drink and drive.
There was no decent cab service in BR.

1. You are an idiot for getting a DUI when you were less than a mile away from your house. You could have easily walked or taken Uber.
2. You are a bigger idiot for posting it on here.
3. You earned that DUI dumbarse, it is not the cop's fault.
