She knows of some, she’s just asking for more. I’m sure she is aware of all the animated cartoon movies but it seems like she’s asking for recommendations of movies she hasn’t thought of that she could watch as a family.

Someone just recommended Uncle Buck and I forgot about this one. Can’t wait to watch it with my 8 year old. It doesn’t mean I haven’t watched a million Disney movies.

I started learning about the greatness of America when I was 6 years old and my old man showed me Red Dawn (1984 version) for the first time. I would recommend that.

My list will run towards older movies but I knew they wouldn't see those as easily as newer ones:

Remember the Titans
The Rookie
Old Yeller & (Savage Sam)
The Parent Trap
Rocky IV
Karate Kid
Goonies
Invincible
The Blind Side
Rudy
Radio

My children never cared as much for animated movies as other kids either.

The Sandlot. I still watch it if I come across it at midnight..

The second one is terrible though.

True story. We let our now 17 year old, then 4-5 years old, watch the Austin Powers series because they were so colorful and she liked it.

After show and tell day at Kindergarten, we got a note to call the teacher. She told us we should probably pay attention to what she watches.

In class, when it was her turn, she stood up front and showed everyone her favorite horse. The teacher asked her what she named it.

My daughter said, "Dixie. Dixie Normous".
