But the thing about sporting events which for me includes a lot of LSU football games is that no matter what.. If it was a bad loss or an ugly win, at some point someone will say "you remember that game when LSU _____" and I like to say I was at the game just because, good or bad, its still part of college football history.

And while I don't go often, there is still something fun about going to a Saints game no matter what. Of course if they win its much more exciting, but I never leave a game saying "I shouldn't have come to this shite".

A couple drinks and good live music is one of life’s greatest pleasures for me. On the other hand, I’ve been to some festivals with below average music and looked forward to leaving.

Great music in a great venue is something I could do every weekend.

Agreed. I’ve never really enjoyed them but I know I’m in the minority.

Same here, and I was a young adult when N.O. had "The Warehouse" for a venue and tickets were dirt cheap, plus once inside, the smoke from the weed could give you a contact high.

I remember seeing BTO free in City Park and the Jazz Fest was dirt cheap to go to AND you could pull a kid's wagon with an ice chest loaded with whatever tickled your fancy for the day.

Less overrated than attending sporting events. At least I know Iron Maiden is going to give me a great show every time. Don’t get the same in today’s sports, especially regular season NBA.

Sucks but yeah, crowded, overly expensive af, yeah I can see that for a big event. Smaller ones are still cool.

Listening rooms on mushrooms is way better than a concert.

Listening rooms on mushrooms

Is that the same as listening to music in a room while taking mushrooms?

Nah. Enjoying time with friends and family. I get why people like this stuff but I don't. I'd rather spend the money on something else.

Going to concerts in this era for pop music is retarded. The music is mostly just made on computer with no real instruments and played over the loud speakers.

Sure...going to see Skynard shred and play live music was probably cool. Going to a rap concert? Id rather off myself.

Well in the 70’s and 80’s it was great. The “Arena Band Era”…

I can beat that. I saw heart and Kansas in their prime for 10 bucks.

Loved it 10-15 years ago when tickets weren’t insane and drinking beer at the concert didn’t cost you $250

I’d rather spend my money on a concert than a sporting event. I took off work and I spent about $300 at the Bama game last year, had to sit in the rain and watch an arse beating then I had to sit in traffic for hours when I could’ve been getting paid to watch it and I could’ve turned it off when I wanted.

Another reason I've probably gone to my last festival. More & more are adding rap acts to draw crowds - in large part crowds I definitely don't want to be around

I am a fan of smaller venues now, but if you ever get the chance to get to the Sphere for a show...do it. Best money I ever spent.
