In think it’s only State Police in Louisiana. That’s where I went. Don’t recall any other option.

If you want the quickest turnaround get them done at State Police HQ.

if you want to wait 6 months, have them done at your sheriff's office
if you want to wait 6 days, do the online application and have your fingerprints taken at LSP HQ

Did mind at LSP at Independence park electronically. Permit arrived a few weeks later.

Pro-tip: Steal something and you can get your fingerprints taken for free.

GA was so much easier than LA.
Fingerprinted at the courthouse and paid $75. Ten days later my permit arrived in the mail.

State Police HQ - if I remember correctly, you can't use card, and I want to say you have to have a money order? I would call and check what form of payment first. Its like $125 though, which no one mentioned anything about when taking the class

I believe state police HQ is the only option (unless that has changed). Make sure you have all your paperwork, have completed the application online, etc. Went on a weekday morning and was in and out. Got my permit in less than 2 weeks.
ETA: Poster below me was right - there are other options. But the state police HQ is the quickest. Looked it up on the site

Contact your local police office, local sheriff's department, or State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting at State Police Headquarters requires a $10.00 money order or can be paid using a debit/credit card. Prints must be submitted on an FBI Applicant Fingerprint Card. The card should be completed as outlined in the application instructions.

Negative, but you will wait longer for the permit to be processed.
