I went back to LSU after a 12 year hiatus. I spent 12 years in the Army and stacked away a lot of cash. I graduated when I was 33 with a EE degree and it was the best decision of my life. It will pay dividends my friend, I promise. Disregard, what your friends are making right now, since that's all they'll ever make, don't let that bullshite discourage you. You have focus and dedication as an older student. You know it means to succeed, for
Yourself and your family.
Don't give up.

Late 20s ain't shite. If you're not satisfied, do something about it ASAP.
Don't sit around for 20 more years and regret not doing it or wonder " is going back to school in my late 40s worth it?".
You're getting close to the age where 5-10 years will pass in the blink of an eye.

Working on my masters at 40. Single parent with 2 school aged kids and a full time job. Don't wait. So it now.

Only advice I have is go to a good school for your masters. It matters if you work in a competitive job market, trust me.

I've considered going back and getting my masters but haven't done it yet. If you're serious about it, then go for it man.

You are never too old, I met a 63year old in med-school not long ago.
Do it

Married with a kid going to school? Sounds shitty.

Went back to school @ 33. Full time job (50+ hours/week), 3 young kids, wife. Went back for a 2 year degree. Took me 3 and a half years to finish. But I finished and doing what I wanted tondo and make twice the money. I don't regret it, but it's possible.

Do it. I was miserable at my job/field and so I went back at 27. Now I'm in a field that I truly love. Only thing I regret are the loans, but my quality of life is much better.

Absolutely. I'm 35 and going into my third year back. No kids, but living with my SO and working full-time (and then some). My previous major wasn't necessarily pointless, but I wasn't happy with what I was doing and wanted to go back. Best decision I've ever made.
The big thing is time management and being with someone who understands that when you need to set aside time for class. I worked my arse off my first two years and am pulling some scholarship money now which is a big help too. Don't be afraid to ask for help and if you have an adult learning center on campus, utilize that resource (if online courses, sometimes brick and mortars will have additional support there too for those going back too).
It's absolutely possible.

As long as the schooling will truly help you take a jump in career.....
I went to med school in my mid thirties.
Haven't looked back.

Serious response:
Where do you live and what level of school are you looking to get into?

The roads you'll regret taking are the ones you didn't go down.
You still have some youth left. If you don't make good use of it the shades of your later self will hate you for it.

I did it, but without the family. It was definitely worth it and no doubt I would do it again. Are you wanting to go back and do something related to your job now, or totally different? I'm a big promoter of people continuing their education if their employer has a tuition reimbursement program. I had to quit work and go back full time but worked a couple of part time jobs on the side.

I'm in the same boat. I have twins. It's not bad.

Did the work thing in my early 20s and wanted more opportunities so went to school at 25 and graduated at 28. Best decision I ever made and no regrets. I'm 30 now and starting an online grad degree.
