I have one where Lee is riding an alligator and he's wearing cowboy boots and has his white cowboy hat.

If Republicans could put up a candidate that isnt a walking caricature of a dingleberry dipshit, they win JP easy.
In JP, Edwards beat Vitter. Later, Edwards trounced both Abraham and Rispone.

At some point, "the candidates suck" excuse gets old and the voters deserve a lot of the blame. For example, look at St. Tammany and Lafayette Parishes (two other suburban, Republican parishes). They didn't vote for Edwards in any of these elections, but Jefferson Parish did.

former Congressman of Metairie

Different flavor of Dingleberry but the point remains. Many see him as an embarrassment- didnt mind him personally but he definitely comes across as a dick, and one with a prostitute scandal to boot. He didnt even bother to run a campaign. Was he assuming a win? And if so, that makes him a shitty candidate by itself.

(Not a JBE supporter, just saying- you want a really populous, generally conservative parish of the state voting for your candidate, get a candidate worth voting for. Otherwise, the quiet, milquetoast Dem will probably win)

Edwards didn't win in the "generally conservative" parishes of Lafayette, Livingston, or St. Tammany. But he did win in Jefferson Parish.

a sitting United States Senator vs. a state legislator from BFE. I'm sure he wasn't the only one

Except they all want to go work in New Orleans, and expect, of course, everybody else to pay the commuting costs over the commuter bridge.

I’m not familiar with the area, but I’ll assume that would be like Texas inviting California residents to move Texas, right?

As a follow up, Rouses in Jefferson Parish is not requiring masks. Went to one on Clearview and none of the employees were wearing masks. Lots of people still wearing them though. Not me.

Well theres the problem. I vote R 99% of the time but couldnt give a shite about the party or about some Senators presidential ambitions. Especially after the crash and burn of Jindal's 2nd term/ hopeless campaign for president on our dime.

My car nor any in my neighborhood has never been broken into.

I had my car rifled through once in Old Metairie, early in the morning. The JPs woke me up, told me what had happened, and asked me what was missing (not much). About a year and a half later, I got a call from a probation officer asking how I felt about letting the guy out of prison.
