She didn't get an English degree sooo

I'm assuming she didn't test out of English classes, so she took something labeled as English while she was there

Did she really think she was going to get away with that or just convinced herself she wouldn't serve much time? You have to know you are going to get caught if you just pocket everything from your charity

her #1 admitted to the scheme (after a plea bargain) and i believe another higher-up in her inner circle also took a plea and did the same. the dispute is whether this was just these 2 (and they're rolling on CB to get a free lunch) or if CB was actively involved or knew anything about it

In roughly five years, prosecutors say, the charity distributed just two scholarships. Prosecutors alleged — and on Thursday, the jury agreed — that Brown and Simmons pocketed the rest of the funds, using them for lavish events such as a golf tournament and luxury boxes for an NFL game and a Beyonce concert.

"Assistant U.S. Attorneys Tysen Duva and Eric Olshan painted Brown as an egotistical politician who lived beyond her means. Using bank records, checks, letters, emails and hundreds of other documents, prosecutors made the case Brown directed the deposit of $37,000 of One Door cash into her account. They also claimed she was instrumental in planning nine events that cost the sham charity $330,000."

All this and she'd still probably get re-elected. The only losers in these situations are the citizens who get robbed blind and are told to ask for another.

Sounds like the Sickle Cell softball tournament in Shreveport every year. Guy makes well over 100K and gives a whopping $2500 to Sickle Cell research.

Fricking bitch. This is a large part of our legislative branch. People that shouldn't be there...even term limits will not cure this stupidity.
ETA I know she's gone but look how long she survived.

She didn't get an undergrad degree at UF.

She got an education specialist "advanced" degree from UF. Hardly affiliated with UF at all outside of her dickriding the football championships.

but more geared for local charities and not the "big boys" (who have groups that do that)

it can't be that hard, b/c they are supposed to report a lot of their financials publicly

People who can barely read shouldn't be teaching.

EBRCOA would be a great one to look into.

I can't imagine how much they leave out of their annual report to the GOEA.
