Why is a bread shop so difficult to keep running?
You need to raise a lot of dough.

Good Morning Humans
Thursday!!
The weekend is getting closer!! I can almost taste it now.
But duty calls first. It’s a fine day to crank the crap out of widgets, guns and butter. The wheels of commerce require greasing for proper operation.
So find your zerk fittings and get to it.

...
On this day in history:
1793
Yellow fever breaks out in Philadelphia. Prominent Philadelphia physician Benjamin Rush alerts the city's mayor that an epidemic of yellow fever was fast emerging. By the time the epidemic ended, some 5,000 people had died.
1808
British General Arthur Wellesley used his “thin red line” of infantry to defeat French General Andoche Junot's forces at the Battle of Vimeiro, leading to British control of Portugal.

1858
The famous debates in Illinois between Abraham Lincoln, Republican Party nominee for the U.S. Senate, and incumbent Senator Stephen A. Douglas of the Democratic Party began.
1863
Guerrillas massacre residents of abolitionist settlement of Lawrence, Kansas. The vicious guerrilla war in Missouri spills over into Kansas and precipitates one of the most appalling acts of violence during the war when Southern partisans raid the abolitionist town of Lawrence, Kansas and murder 150 men.

1897
Olds Motor Vehicle Company founded. Ransom Eli Olds of Lansing, Michigan, founds Olds Motor Vehicle Company, which will later become Olds Motor Werks and then Oldsmobile.
1911
Mona Lisa stolen. On this day in 1911 Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre by three Italian handymen; it was not recovered until 1913, and the media sensation helped make it one of the world's most famous paintings.
1942
The animated film Bambi had its theatrical release in the United States, and it became a classic in the Disney canon, noted for its lush hand-drawn animation and sensitive affective narrative.
1944
The seeds of the United Nations are planted. Representatives from the United States, Great Britain, the Soviet Union and China meet in the Dumbarton Oaks estate at Georgetown, Washington, D.C., to formulate the formal principles of an organization that will provide collective security on a worldwide basis—an organization that will become the United Nations.

1986
An eruption of lethal gas from Lake Nyos in Cameroon kills nearly 2,000 people and wipes out four villages on August 21, 1986. Carbon dioxide, though ubiquitous in Earth’s atmosphere, can be deadly in large quantities, as was evident in this disaster.
1987

Phelps left Athens with six gold and two bronze medals. His eight total medals tied him with Soviet gymnast Aleksandr Dityatin for the most medals ever won by a competitor at a single Olympic Games.
2016
Greenville, S.C., police investigate reports of creepy clowns hanging around a local apartment complex, trying to lure kids into the woods. The story gains worldwide attention and sets off a “killer clown panic” across the US.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning everyone.
Third day in a row I have not slept well due to my GI issues. Today will be my 2nd day this week I will go without eating to allow some healing without further inflammation.
But it is almost the weekend and getting closer to a Tiger kickoff! Hope everyone has a great day.
