Trust me.

If Silverado or Yukon buyers want gas or diesel, they’ll get gas or diesel. GM isn’t going to threaten market dominance by upending their own lineup.

There is no way we have the raw material and rare earth metals for all these batteries. Lithium will just turn into the new oil with even more destructive processes to mine it. We will have destroyed our economy and energy independence for nothing.

If they really cared about this global warming shite they would be focused on recapturing carbon dioxide.

My current '17 Silverado 1500 will be good until ~2025.
I'll buy a 2025 that will last until 2034.
Then I'll buy a 2034/2035 that will be good until at least 2045 and probably even 2050 as I will be getting old and won't drive as much.

By then I'll be almost 85 and will probably get a car if I still have the ability to drive and need one.

And when a natural disaster comes and knocks out power for a few days, then what? That region would come to a halt. No way for people to get in or out. What about hurricane evacuation, people will run out of power waiting in traffic. Getting away from fossil fuel got travel is unfeasible and we’re closer to 30 years out than 14 years

What is the permitting process and the average approval time for all the new coal and gas power plants were going to need to build in the next fifteen years? Not enough power being produced for all these electric cars.

Electric cars as of now are nothing more than in town commuter cars. The infrastructure is not there and cross country driving is hard. I ain't paying 50k+ for something I can basically only drive in California. It would take decades to transition from gas to electric. Also I don't know how much I trust an electric to tow 10000lb state to state vs an gas/diesel engine.

I just don’t understand why we can’t create a 25 year road map that focuses on AMERICAN natural gas for the meantime. I’m no fool, I know sooner than later O&G will go the way of the coal industry. However, turning off the switch overnight is impossible without killing a million jobs at home while just getting that same oil from the Middle East. It’s retarded.

That’s a lot of batteries. How much pollution goes into making batteries. Where do we dispose of all these batteries hmm
