Great so we can destroy the environment by mining lithium and disposing of big arse unusable batteries.

GM, for having a lot of smart people, is really stupid.

I don't understand how anyone can argue for a majority electric car population with a straight face. It's not magic. The shite going into making that car is being mined, chemically made, etc., and causing way more damage to the environment than refining oil will ever cause.

From start to finish, gas vehicles are way worse for the environment. There's numerous studies/data out there that tells you this.

General Motors said Thursday that it will end the sale of all gasoline and diesel powered passenger cars and sports utility vehicles by 2035

Did they mention what sort of investment they'll be making in the electrical infrastructure to account for increased demand? Particularly now that our permanent Democrat overlords are clamping down on domestic energy production.

No of course not. They never do.

This is dependent on where the EV draw their charges from, if it is from solar or wind farms then yes they are better for the environment. If they are drawing their charges from coal factories then they are worse.

I love how the "that is all" is supposed to make your false statement true.

No current electric vehicle can make it across all of Texas on a single charge.

Hybrids are best compromise. We have 2,Prius gets 52 mpg,Highlander gets 35 mpg.Toyota is planning to have all their vehicles hybrid by 2025.
My biggest concern is having enough hybrid qualified mechanics ,local dealership only has 2.

Does it matter that we LIKE to drive gasoline powered vehicles?

Or does what we want just not matter?

Have you been paying attention? This administration wants to give you CHOICES but they only present you with ONE option. It's their way or die.

Sooooo —- we are supposed to be tolerant and accepting of diversity and other cultures - but ‘they’ are making it harder for people to travel and explore in many way ways.

Makes zero sense.

I'm guessing they are betting on the technology by then for batteries. Otherwise, yeah this is a large inconvenience.

what will be used to make these batteries and where do all the ones go from then on that can't make it more than a few hundred miles?

And then, will people say frick it and fly more? what will be used to power these flights?
